Question about Neff Refrigerators

3 Answers

I have a 1996 Neff fridge E number K4513XOGB/01, enclosed in a cabinet. The drainage hole is blocked so water keeps overflowing on to fridge bottom shelf. We have tried to clear it with a cotton swab but without success. Please can you tell me what else I can do?

The drain tube might be clogged, you can fix this by unclogging the drain system. Make to unplug the refrigerator before doing any work.

Hope that helps.......

Try a metal coat hanger, or either a drain cleaner or protein type cleaner that is for food, mold, or bacteria build up. (if you believe it to be food, mold, or bacteria)

Hi,
Flexible PVC equipment wire or strimmer cord works.
Or something like a turkey baster- with plasticine to seal usually does the trick.

When clear, spray with a household cleaner to prevent mould growth.

Hope this provides a solution for you.

Hi our CB18M/1c/FAN keeps gathering water under the salad trays please advice thankyou

You say it runs down the channels.
Is their a drain hole at the bottom?
If the drain hole is blocked then you will need to unblock it using compressed air or a thin piece of medium flexible wire.
It should drain to a pan near the compressor and evaporaste from
there. Sometimes a loose particle of food can block the drain, usually at the back lower position of the fridge.

How do fix water inside refrigerator under bottom drawers

It may be your drain hole at the back of the fridge has become blocked.

There will be a channel at the back (or side) of the fridge that collects condensation with a drain hole out of the back of the fridge. The drain hole becomes blocked with mould / gunge causing the excess water to overflow and puddle in the bottom of the fridge.
The hole may be gently cleared with a small diameter rod or stick.

Water leaking with icing formation below veg tray. can see flow of water from middle section of the refrigerator, water flowing out of the refrigirator.Model no-RT60KZRIH1

Frost free fridges will periodically allow frost build up to melt and run down the back of the fridge to a small hole which leads the water out and on to the compressor behind the fridge. The water is then evaporated by the heat of the compressor. The hole can get blocked and this leads to the water overflowing and running down to the bottom of the fridge. Clean out the drainage hole regularly.

We have a hotpoint RLA 34 ( MICROBAN ) FRIDGE . water keeps seeping into the bottom , under the crisper box tried turnining temp down , made sure it's level , no blocked drainage hole . door shuts tight...

You said no blocked drainage hole, where was the drainage hole that you checked located? Did you pour water down this drain, and furthermore did you check that the water you poured into the drain flowed into the condensate pan on the outside of the fridge? Unless you have a problem with an ice maker leaking water, it sounds very much like you do have a blocked drainage hole, otherwise known as a defrost drain. the drain system begins underneath the evaporator coil inside the freezer, this is where the water that is collected in the defrost cycle flows into a drain tube that leads the water down to the condensate pan. The best and safest way to clear out this drain is to blow it out with compressed air, after you remove any and all ice at the beginning of the drainage system, in other words, the hole located underneath the evaporator coil.

Frigidiare PLHS39EESS9 Ice build up in bottom of Freezer

I had the same problem with my Jenn-air side-by-side

Your freezer has a defrost cycle and when the freezer temp is set too cold, your drainage pan and tube freezes up (behind the back panels in the freezer) and when that gets full it spills over too the bottom of the fridge and keeps building up until you notice.
  • Un-plug fridge and put your food in coolers or another fridge.
  • Defrost the freezer, remove the ice from the bottom.
  • Remove the back panel/s (in the freezer).
  • Check the drainage pan. If it is iced up, you'll have to carefully remove the ice and check the drainage hole.
  • If the hole is iced up, so is the first 1-2 inches of the plastic tube leading to the main drainage pan behind and under the fridge.
  • You can use a hair drier to speed up defrost.
  • To defrost the hole and tube I used round ended metal (nut pics or beater attachment ends- avoid sharp objects) heated up in boiling water and gently forced down into the hole and tube until defrosted.
  • Check flow(by pouring warm water) down and looking behind and under fridge(with flashlight) to see if flowing into main drainage pan.
  • Turn up your freezer temp and check with a thermometer. Your freezer temp was probably set too cold
Mine is going on 5 months with no problem. If this continues, it might be the defroster.
Good Luck!

Water pooling and freezing inside bottom freezer.

make sure you have cleared the drain all the way to the drip pan, and the fridge should be tilted slightly to the rear for good drainage........make sure there is a clear path for the water to make it to the drain hole

Ice in Refrigerator Section

there are 2 possibilities. first the drain is blocked causing water to overflow from the defrost water gulley at the bottom rear of the inside of the fridge. this can form ice as it is close to the division between fridge and freezer. second, the .fault of ice growth can be caused by breakdown of the cabinet insulation. of the two, the first is the moree likely. to test drain is cloear, pour a little water down the drain. if it does'nt flow freely, push something flexible down the drain hole till blockage is clear
