but if you have driver for windows XP then you can install it only after installing a fix from microsoft as high definition audio devices are not detected and unable to install the driver; so download the fix first and installed the driver;here is the link
You need to install the audio driver.
Go to the Acer WEB site to download the drivers you need, make sure it is Windows XP version for your particular MODEL laptop. Use this link :- http://global.acer.com/support/download.htm
By the way, the latest Service Pack for XP is SP3 you should download this and install it, try to borrow SP3 on a CD because it is approx. 350Mb in size.
Hi, In all likelyhood, the audio driver is not installed. Check your drivers by going to your device manager and look for devices which have a yellow dot next to them. You will find device manager by right clicking "my computer" and choosing "properties". If you find a yellow dot next to your audio card, go to the Acer web site at: www.acer.com and select your product from the drop down lists. Regards, Graemevm
Have you gone to the acer site? and second question I too have an acer and I got rid of Vista is this what you did or did the computer come installed with xp. If it did make sure you have the Microsoft hdd coded driver installed. It is available by googling "hdd audio driver" it will send you to microsoft to download. Also make sure you have completely deleted the previous software before loading the new one they will conflict and load on top of each other. Hope this helped..Take care.. Be mucho blessed..Mark
