Please can you look at my profile photo, I took it of the ink stop, cannot see a sponge? The printer is second hand so I dont expect much. There is only blue and black ink coming through and a little yellow.

    many thanks

I found this on fixya per dgsturt

It looks like you've managed to get ink all over the shop by using the self clean option. That't mainly to clear bocked print heads and tends to squirt a load of ink through.

That ink has to go somewhere, it looks like you may have some on your rollers.

First, I'd have a look through the printer menu see if there's a roller cleaning option, give that a go.

Second, I'm not sure but worth a try, try printing a document that has wording all down the page but use an empty cartridge. If your printer will do this you’re effectively using a sheet of paper as a mop to clean the rollers.

Third, probably the most difficult, get some Isoproprial Alcohol from the chemist and try and clean the rollers and print bed yourself with a lint free cloth and cotton buds, what ever works.

If you don't like the idea of Isoproprial Alcohol, it is highly infamable, try with a damp cloth first, but it will take longer to dry off.

OR YOU CAN TRY THIS:
The next step would be to disassemble the Epson, and clean the Pads/Heads. Click on link below.:

I located a page on http://www.fixyourownprinter.com forum, which had plenty of details about similar issues.

It should not fog up. Has something been spilled on it? I would first try a hair dryer on it. But don't over hear anything

How do i dismantle epson stylus cx3200 printer

If you're wanting to replace the waste pads you're going to be making a lot of work for yourself as an external waste ink kit is considerably easier to fit via the little access hatch in the back.
That said, you can disassemble the printer if you can get a copy of the Service Manual. Sites like 2manuals will have them and some will charge for access.
One key thing to note however is that the printers are designed such that the case itself provides the stability for the printer components. If you remove too many panels and/or parts you'll knock the printer out of alignment and need a service centre with the appropriate jigs to realign it. So take care and consider your approach carefully.
Best of luck

Open the scanner lid and slide the transportation lock back to the hw_translock_1.gif unlock position.

I will appreciate a Fixya rating if I were able to resolve your concern.

CX3200 SANNER

Can you make a copy? If not then:

1) Turn off the printer.
2) Lift the scanner cover.
3) Toggle the transportation lock five times, ensuring that it is in the unlocked position, towards the back of the scanner.
4) Turn on the printer, and the error should be cleared.

If you can make a copy, you need to go to your all programs, and select Epson Scan

Try making sure the scanner lock on the left hand side of the scanner surface is set to the unlock position. If it is set to the lock position, you will get an error.

Duh, what does the error message say? Use the status monitor to get more info about the message. Chances are it will say "parts inside the printer have reached the end of their life..."

This means the waste ink counter has hit it's limit and needs to be reset after cleaning the pads.

This rescue kit will fix you up.
