Did the new transistors shorted out? You maut make sure to checkt the gray tuning caps in the inverter output sections, if they are bad, the inverter will run at the wrong frquency and burns uo the transistors. You also need to look real close at the solder joints in the inverter sections, especially around the inverter transformers.

HP Pavilion F1703 goes black after 2 - 3 seconds

Resolder the leads of the four TOROID inductors, make sure to remove the old solder, clean the leads real well and resolder. Also check caps for leaking/bulging tops and bottom seals, check the transistors (c5706/5707) for shorts.

I have a Dell E172FPb LCD monitor with a black screen and blinking power light, no leaky or swollen capacitors inside, what can I do to repair it? Thanks.

Check out the four transistors (c5706/5707) Emitter to Collector (see picture of the transistor in my transistor album for pinout), it should read open circuit (should be checked out off the board). This is common problem. Make sure to inspect the solder joint in on the board, especially around the inverter transformer pins. Make sure the fuse read out less than one Ohm also.

My monitor goes black I only see the screen for 2 seconds. I already replace cords. Please help.

Try removing the old solder from the toroid inductors (4), clean the leads real well and resolder.

I hope it does not have bad transistors (c5706/5707).

Monitor goes to black screen after only a few seconds

This a very common for this model, it was so bad that HP had recalled it years ago. Look for cold solder joints on all 4 round inductor, check all four transistors (c5706/5707), the caps.

Screen goes blank after a second

More likely to be transistors.
http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Dell%20E153FPB/

Check the solder joints, fuse, transistors (c5706/5707), caps and look at other Dell albums also.

My Dell monitor wont get out of the power saving mode. I unpluged and disconnected everything. Then pluged back. Still same problem.

It is more likely to be bad inverter cicuits due to shorted out transistors (four c5706/5707). The power light blinking?

Monitor goes dark 2-3 sec after power up, green lite stays on

Look for shorted out transistors (four, c5706/5707) in the inverter backlight transformer driving circuits.

My screen com runs for a second then goes black

Look for shorted out transistors (4) (c5706/5707) in the inverter circuits. Also look for bad caps, see http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
