Ok if you are runing on the fwy and let go the gas pedal the only air is coming in from the idle valve and on neutral the same ting what about wen you start the car first the rpm is high 1400 or 1500 then going down wen it get hot that car had two valves the cold idle valve and electric valve the electric valve control the regular idle wen the car is hot after the cold valve is closed

My car is over heating when im going down the hwy

May have head gasket leak. If so will be loosing water, possibly quite slowly. At highway speeds cylinder pressure is higher and so gasket leak more likely. Means gasket damage or loose cylinder head. Can be checked by mechanic. (pressure test and cylinder head bolt tension test)
Less likely alternatives, the spark timing is too advanced or the fuel too poor.

When im driving in 5th gear the RPM's seem high around 3500 is this normal?

I, also, thought this was high at first. After some research, I found that this car runs in that range at about 75 mph. So, yes. That is normal.

91 Toyota MR2 automatic transmission when i full stop sometimes i step on gas RPM goes up but it feels like it`s still in neutral, i have to down shift before moving again. I can`t find what`s wrong.

i have somewhat of the same problem! when im driving my transmission sounds like it sticks in 2nd gear or something. and ill be driving down the hwy and in either goes into neutral or into a lower gear so my rpms go way up! like im revving it. but when i unhook the battery for a few minutes it seems to fix it for a while...any clue whats going on?

I have a 1997 Cavalier thats a 2.2 and its running really rough.

sounds like it may have a bad ignition miss. check spark plugs, wires, and coil packs.
