Question about Sony BDP-S300 Blu-Ray Disc Player

No Disc I am getting a "no disc" message when trying to play movies that have worked on the player prior - I have only had the player since Christmas and it is not used very often. I am going to try cleaning the lense, but what else could it be?

Get "no disk" after several stalled disks have played in the past several. Thought the stalled ones were durty, cleaned them aand then now "no disk" is recognized. Just purchased it in December 2007 and not played many on it. It is still under manufactured warranty. Not unhappy with the HD 1080p pic. but the hype and the performance dont live up to talk.

Greetings Npeavy,

If you have only had this unit since Christmas, I would definately suggest taking advantage of your manufacturer warranty. Bring the unit to any qualified repair center and have it fixed, if cleaning does not remedy the problem.

Thank you,

Dorothy

When inshirting movies dvd in dvd player showing message on dvd players screen no disc and cant play movies dvd why?

it could be the disc itself dvds really don't age that well a common problem is that one day they just decide to freeze and stop working even though they had only been played a few times the most extreme would be your situation. I would suggest trying newer dvds out if same problem occurs then it is a problem with the dvd player.

Incompatible Disc in Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-Ray Disc Player

I had the exact same problem as you did... I bought the Sharp Aquos 42D85X which came with Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-ray Disc player. could not get brand new blu-ray movies to play and i found it froze everytime after 10 secs. I phoned sharp who basically were no help watsoever! I then went and returned my blu-ray movies back to the store thinking it was a problem with the discs.. The people there were extremely nice and since they had a display model of the BD-HP21X instore they offered to test the movie on it to veroify whether it was the blu-ray player was the problem or not. Turns out its a fault with all of the BD-HP21X models. So we then ended up returning it back to the store we bought it and exchanged it with the older model (BD-HP20X). I now have no problems playing blu-ray movies. Although another suggestion is to perhaps download the lastest firmware update & see if that resolves your issues.

Dvd video player

Your DVD player is having a problem reading the disc. This is what is accounting for the pausing and the slow loading times...especially if it plays other movies without hitches. Even if the DVD is cleaned, some scratching on the disc will prevent it from being viewed properly. Blockbuster shoudl give you another disc to try of the same movie if you ask. Also, you can try getting a cleaner for your DVD player to remove dust and help it read discs better.
