Question about Pioneer HTS-GS1 Theater System

1 Answer

Sound Issues I just booted up my system, and was only getting sound on the right side. When I listened closely, there was a soft static coming from the center and left speakers. I could also hear a bit of sound from the program I was watching. When I ran MCACC, all the speakers worked perfectly. I checked multiple channels and music from my pc, but nothing worked.

Ah that's the problem, Pioneer has been famous for audio problems. Your model is a newer one that uses a system scanner to detect audio problems. Check your wires and see if they are connected correctly. To be honest, as an expert on Home Theater systems, Pioneer is not the best way to go, Boston Acoustics is a really good system, pricey, but good.

without knowing the exact model i can only guess that by static you mean that you turn the volume right up and get white noise. turn it back down and work out why the sound from the input is not selected and getting to the output

No surround sound coming from tv. surround sound

It all depends on the TV transmission. If it is stereo, you will get the surround sound. If it is not then you have to listen to ordinary sound.

Speakers

The connection between the TV and the Philips for the left channel is missing or interupted.
There should be two connectors on each end, one red (right) one white (left).
If they are properly plugged in, then the left channel cable stretch is bad. These can be replaced inexpensively at any electronics store.
The sound when using the player is sent internally to the amplifier of the system; no cables.

Sound problems

First, wiggle the input for the speakers around to make the connection is in place. That can sometimes give you a hiss if the signal isnt connecting. If that doesnt work, then check the DVD eye to make sure its working properly. Try to unplug it, then plug it back into the wall in order to fix the issues. If the product is still under warranty contact the manufacturer immediately to discuss this. If not, check to see if the manufacturer has had any recalls on parts or have firmware upgrades. that can sometimes resolve those issues. Good luck, keep us posted!
