unfortunately, there is no screen replacement for your broken kindle 3 screen. The only option you have is to remove the screen of a dead kindle 3 that is no longer being used. To get a dead Kindle 3, you might have to visit where kindle 3 is repaired within your vicinity.
Lastly, you might end up getting another kindle 3. If there was a screen replacement for sale, it would have been much easier, but unfortunately, there isn't.

My daughter somehow cracked her Kindle 3 while in the car the other day. It was only 32 days old. I contacted Amazon and told them I wasn't sure how it broke, that it was in her purse in a case yet was broken by the time we got home. They immediately sent me a new one with no questions what-so-ever. Recived it today less than 24 hours after calling. All I have to do is ship the old one back within 30 days. THANK YOU AMAZON!

A broken Kindle 3 (keyboard) screen cannot be repaired; it must be replaced. You can buy replacement K3 screens on the Internet at places like eBay, but you must be able to.perform the repair! It is not very difficult to replace K3 screen, but you must have a small Phillips screwdriver and be prepared to open the Kindle and remove 19 tiny screws and a ribbon cable to accomplish the task!

There are a nuber of sources for Kindle 3 eink screens and instructions for replacement. It is a simple thing to do but not worth doing. A screen is approx $60 USD plus shipping. My kindle cost $79. Go figure.
