It sounds like you have a broken piece somewhere in the unit. If you can pull the machine out and then take the back off. Then start it up and see what you can see. I'm still thinking that a belt slipped or snaped ergo the clunking. It shutting of tells me something is out of wack. The drum might have sliped off aswell. When you say starts out fine what do you mean? Does the water start and then as soon as the cycle starts shuts off?
Yes, the water starts and then shuts off a few seconds later. If I change the cycle to spin for example it will try to start and shut right off. The actual model number is FTF2140ES.
