RCA TruFlat 27F520T 27

This thing is possessed. (by 8 users)

posted by micplo on Jul 01, 2008

TV turns itself on and off. It also goes through the menu that presets the channels. Then the only way to finally turn it off is to unplug it. The unit is about 4 years old and has never done this before. Checked the remote, removed the batteries, changed for fresh ones. Tried spraying bottled air into buttons (Dust?). If I depress and hold menu button TV holds to one station but you cannot change volume levels or anything else. Is this worth fixing?

What a nightmare! My RCA TruFlat is possessed as well! It just started last week...it turns itself on/off...constantly searching through all the channels, etc. Why is this happening now to all of us? Check the "born on" date on the TV...maybe we all have the same group/set of TruFlats? Mine was made Jan 2006 in Mexico...anybody else?

Yes, we just started having this problem with our tv. It just changes channels or turns on and off by its self. We usually unplug it for a couple minutes and plug it back in. Then it goes through searching for channels for a minute and once it finishes that it goes back to normal. But now its starting to do it more and more.

Same exact thing is happening to me. Mine is about 4 yrs old too. Besides turning off and on sometimes it'll keep going through all the channels over and over again.
