Re: computer is not reading camera
I think you have not installed the drivers given by the manufacture .. try installing it .... if the problem persists then check the cable is connected properly or not ... if it is connected properly still not working then there may be some problem in the cable change the cable & try again ... if you still persist the same problem then there may be some problem in the port in pc ... or the driver database might have got corrupted just try reinstalling the operating system .... this solves your problem
any doubts reply me

You must install the driver software for the scanner /camera before you connect the scanner /camera to the PC.
Since your model /make is not specified , I adivce that you seach for free downloads of the software for the make/model from the site of the manufacturer.
Verify that you have good connections at both ends of USB cable. Verify that you have the camera powered on. Verify that you have media card or whatever in the camera that you are trying to read. If that doesn't work typically there should be a trouble shooting section in the manual. Windows should be detecting the unit. After it's connected look in "my computer" and see if you see the device / detachable storage listed among available drives and try navigating manually to your media.
Make sure the camera is on and pc is selected on the camera screen when connected to the computer. You will need to have PC highlighted and select ok on the camera as this starts the camera and computer to communicate. Once communication established the LCD screen of the camera goes dark and the computer should generate a removable disk drive. Check the System Tray (lower right corner beside the PC time) for Safely Remove Hardware. When you click on it, it should read "Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device Drive ?:" If you dont see that, then check the Device Manager to see if the camera is recognized as USB Mass Storage Device. The camera uses the driver usbstor.
SCSI devices are detected as the computer is booting. If your scanner was powered on after your computer was already up and running, it may not have been identified by the SCSI card. Try leavinging the scanner connected and powered on and then reboot your computer. Also, the pins on the SCSI cable connectors are easy to bend; inspect the rows of small pins with a flashlight or just try a different cable if you have one.
