Attempting to record copy of CD to send to workshop participants. Have used machine before successfully. Am now getting message: UNRECORDABLE CD when i attempt to copy. Have used CD-R from 5 different stacks --- all same message.
What burning application are you using, check it's setting if it's pointing to the correct drive (if you have multiple drives).
Click start
right click my computer
properties
hardware
device manager
?dvd/r cd/r
scan for hardware changes
Try to use any new cd blank and see if still recording or not.
cheers

Some times there is some dust accumulated on the lens of your drive which causes such problem.try lens cleaning first.it should solve your problem.if not then ur lens must hve gone weak n will be able to read cds but wont be so strong enough to copy or burn cds.i hope its just a dust accumulation n it gets solved by cleaning.wish u success.
feel free 4 further assistance .rate the particular experts solution as fixya that helps u understand n solve ur problem
This sounds like the cd ur trying to copy might be copyprotected is this possible ? if not copyprotected is the source cd a plus or a minus cd sometimes this will happen depending on source media . its also possible that the origional cd is slighly damaged meaning the burner cant read it . try testing with a simple project that will help verify if laser has gone outof alignment also try to see if your computer will read the origional disk ok good luck
