I carried out a format on my laptop, but I cannot get bluetooth or wireless lan to function, although the indicator lights are on, nor does the AV Mode eject work. Can anyone help?

The lights indicate that the units are functioning, not that they can connect. most likely is the router is WEP, and the laptop has not had the same encryption key entered into the network settings.
on a pc that can access the router open the router's configuration page, read the WEP settings, and copy them to the laptop network settings.
If the laptop still fails to connect, then the reinstall was not complete,

  • laptops are notorious for only working from their own reinstall disk, and only half the time,
and does not include drivers for the network adaptors, which can be obtained from the manufacturers web site, or the cd provided with the unit and properly installed, with luck.

Does the Sony VAIO vgn sz430n come with Bluetooth and, if not doesn't, does it matter what Bluetooth dongle I get?

I would start by pulling up your laptops configuration and see if it has a bluetooth card installed, most newer laptops do but it all depends on how the laptop was configured when ordered or purchased. Check your connections section and see which wireless cards are installed.

I NEED A SONY VAIO vgn-TX1HP MANUAL HOW DO I SWITCH ON THE AV MODE

Hello,

You can use the AV Mode button when the VAIO is off. This will start the VAIO in Instant On mode. Instant On is a Pre-Operating System
environment which allows to enjoy some multimedia without having to wait for Windows to boot.

Also, you can download the user manual for your laptop by opening the address mentioned below:

I need to turn on bluetooth on my VAIO VGN CR353

When you have the wireless antena turned on the bluetooth comes on with it, unless it has been disabled. To enable it you should have an icon in the lower right that says LAN. Double click the icon and you will see the option to enable Bluetooth or change from 2.4 to 5 ghz wireless. All you need to do is enable the bluetooth.
