I have the same problem. I have the Sony Bravia KDL-40S4100. I can't get it off channel 2. It won't work with the remote, and it won't work on buttons on the top of the console either. The power button on the remote is still able to turn the TV on and off, but aside from that, everything else is frozen.

My Sony Bravia KDL-40S4100 has the exact same problem being stuck on channel 2. The only button working is the green on/off button on the RC. I don't know what to do.

Okay, I finally emailed Sony and they said to make sure that the "channel fix" is unchecked on the tv's menu. I had found this 'channel fix' before and ignored it because I thought it meant to 'fix' the channel, as in if it was BROKEN...lol It actually means the OTHER 'fix" which is to make it STABLE or FIRM or in this case, STUCK on channel 2. Duhhhh......
So I went in to the tv's menu and found "Channel fix" (can't remember exactly where in the menu it was, but it's there), UNCHECKED it, and PRESTO, tv remote worked again!!!!!
So go find that stooopid "Channel fix" and UNCHECK it, or turn it off, whatever....lol

I've had my Sony Bravia 52EX701 for over 3 years. We have two remote controls. The main one we use is through our older Bose Home Theater System to control the TV, etc. The Bravia remote is also activ

Maybe there has been a disconnect with the TV recognizing the code of the remotes? Or, maybe you pressed a button on the remote that will not allow it to change the channels. I've done this in the past where I accidentally pressed, say the TV or DVD button, and when I turned the TV on and tried to tune in channels, the TV would not respond. Pressing the cable button (but that is on my remote) returned the remote to its ability to change the channels. You will just have to do trial n' error.

Why does my Sony Bravia get stuck on channel 6.1?

Try a reset to this set and check. If it do not help you, the main system control IC is faulty, and should be replaced. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

My sony bravia klv40ex600 won't turn on,the light indicator for power, volume and channel is on, the screen is still black

Hi, have you tried pressing the TV button that is under the On/Off button on top right hand side of remote control? Some times its possible to accidently press the DVD or VCR controls and this by-passes the TV as a remote?
Another cause can be a poor or low battery in the remote itself. If you have no luck let me know & we can try some more things, however, I have heard that The On/Off Switch on the TV can be a problem. Goodluck, Jon..

Sony bravia v series 32"

hi,
IT normally happens after factory reset is done. You need to reprogram the channels. Try the auto program (AUTO TUNING) Process.
  1. On your remote commander " Press HOME or MENU button"
  2. Scroll down to " SETTINGS or SET-UP"
  3. Then to "CHANNEL SET-UP"
  4. Select " AUTO PROGRAM " To Auto program your LCD TV and it's done..

Sony 37" Flat Panel Bravia--cant change from channel 2?

Hello,

On the original Sony remote control, try typing in a channel manually. Try pressing the numbers "0-4" or "0-5," and waiting for a moment. If the channel changes, then the TV needs to be autoprogrammed. Using the SOny remote control, go into the MENU (or HOME on some Sony remotes), and look for the initial setup screen. It will walk you through the process. The process is also in the original users manual, available on the www.SONY.com website.

Hope this helps you....
