Had the same problem and found the removable bottom 250 page feeder assembly to be the culprit. Sorry I did not trace the problem to a specific part on the assembly but was lucky enough to have a replacement unit.

SOURCE: HP Deskjet F2180 Margins incorrect for label printing

I eventually managed to print my labels one sheet at a time by forcing the label top edge down the page. You can insert one or two lines above the label template and adjust the font size to get the right distance. It took a bit of trial & error but got there in the end. Hope it helps you

SOURCE: Lexmark T642 - I have plain white paper in tray 1

You need to tell the printer that the two papers are different. I assume they are the same size so the printer thinks they are the same unless you have configured the Paper types to be different.
Set Tray 1 type as Plain and Tray 2 type as custom 1. hope this helps

SOURCE: default paper tray selection for HP LaserJet 4200tn

1) When the printer receives a print job, it selects the tray by trying to match the requested paper type and size with what has been loaded in the trays. Using an “autoselect” process, it searches all available trays for the paper that satisfies the request, starting with the bottom tray and ending with the top tray (tray 1). The printer begins printing the job as soon as it finds the proper type/size.

2) If paper is loaded in tray 1 and tray 1 is set "TRAY 1 TYPE=ANY" and "TRAY 1 SIZE=ANY" on the
Paper Handling menu, the printer will always pull paper from tray 1 first.

Sharp mx3110n printer won't use bypass tray? Trying to print on glossy paper using that tray and it won't, it automatically switches to tray 1. Or can I just put glossy paper in tray 1?

Hello Laura,
Here is the pdf that explains how to set up th bypass tray; http://support.appstate.edu/sites/support.appstate.edu/files/MX3110%20USE%20SPECIAL%20PAPER%20IN%20THE%20BYPASS.pdf

The text of it is as follows;

TO USE SPECIAL PAPER IN THE BYPASS
? Press either the picture of the copier or press
paper select
? Load paper in the bypass
? Make sure the correct size shows up under
bypass tray
? If paper is not just plain paper press type and
size
? Choose paper type
? If you are printing to the bypass from your
computer you must also tell the print driver
under the paper tab what type of paper is in
the bypass if its not just plain paper
? The copier and the PC must match paper
types
? Press the X button to Accept

Good Luck!

Red light flashes, screen says "load correct paper: A4." The paper is alreay loaded. I cannot print.

When <LOAD CORRECT PAPER> appears on the display, the size of the paper in the paper cassette or multipurpose tray is different from that of the paper specified in <PAPER SIZE> for <CASSETTE> or <MP TRAY>. You need to load the correct size paper or change the paper size in <PAPER SIZE> for <CASSETTE> or <MP TRAY>.
Check if the size of paper loaded in the paper cassette or multi-purpose tray meets the paper setting specified in the machine.

check the following:
1. The paper size specified on the printer driver screen
2. Paper loaded in the machine
3. The paper size set in <PAPER SIZE> for <CASSETTE> or <MP TRAY>

I keep geting remove MP paper

This indicates that the machine 'sees' paper loaded in the multipurpose (MP) paper tray. In order for the machine to print faxes and machine generated reports and lists, this tray must be empty as the machine prints from the cassette. Remove paper from the MP tray.

Problem with printing from Tray 1

It can be set from more then one place. In MS Word you would go into the tools setting then choose the envelope drop down, select labels and in the options for the label you choose the format as an Avery Equivalent. That is where you can tell MS Word which tray to pull from. Also in the printer properties, under advanced options you can designate what type of paper is in each tray. Good Luck

Canon IP4600 won't feed from rear tray.

It turns out that if you read the documentation VERY carefully it says that "if the application program specifies 8.5x11 plain paper and that is what is loaded in the front cassette you cannot print from the rear tray". It turns out that this is true even if you go to the printer driver and specify "rear tray" manually. The driver disregards the setting. You can force printing plain paper from the rear tray by going to the Canon "My Printer" icon and forcing ALL printing from the rear tray. If you do this, remember to change it back. You can also print plain paper from the rear tray if you specify the "allocation" option and the paper from the front cassette runs out. You can always print from the rear tray if the application that created the print job specifies something other than 8.5x11 without resorting to the forced override, e.g. printing a .jpg or .gif or something from an application like Paintshop or Printshop, etc.

Canon Imageclass MF 6550 - Can't print labels... help!

I have called canon with this problem more than once and they keep telling me that I am using a "paper" that is not supported. I finally gave up and ended up telling them that I am now going to use my cheap HP printer because it can do what it's suppose to.

Canon mp 600r dvd printing

IT is easy once you have done it...it works a treat  but you do have to check all the correct boxes. (1) use cd label print that comes with the mp 600 ( i have a 600 not a 600 r)  design the label and then hit print (2) in paper size choose (cd r tray F ) (3) under the paper size box  choose (quality and media) (4) in media type choose ( printable disk recomended) (5) in paper source choose (disk tray) (6) hit print
make sure you have the cd loaded in the disk tray ready with the arrows lined up

good luck

Tray 1- load plain letter

Linda,

On printer check media/paper type tray 2 or 3 is plain and tray 2/3 is set for letter paper size too, via printer control panel. Also check under paper handling other options for tray 1, also on tray 2 and 3, I think there is a blue little round switch on left should be set as letter not custom.

Some paper types cannot be feed from anywhere else but tray1/bypass ie labels/laminate/card stock.

Check print driver on pc has tray 3 option installed and is not set as default to print to manual bypass/tray 1

light flashing cause printer wants paper type/size that it "thinks" it hasn't got in tray 2/3

If that dont cover it...post back
