I have a JBL MR-17 marine radio CD player. The CD player works fine the tuner will not detect any stations and just scans through both AM and FM. I have checked the antenna and everything looks fine.

Have you tried a bigger/better antennae? Have you tried any other radios to see if they repeat the problem?
Thanks

While tuning it ll just keep on scanning..
if you know the station range or signal like 101.4 press the tune button at that point...else it ll keep on continue the scan process

3possible problem, there could be a bad reception, a loose antenna, or there was a problem on the internal resistor for antenna signals

basically, first check the antenna connections into the player, it could be cut or loose...

Japanese market orientated products are not compatible to USA FM tuning frequencies and the Dvd regions are different to. In short, you will not be able to tune in to a station or play a dvd disk unless the disk is all region.

Wife was driving our 1999 galant and the FM radio stopped working. The AM and CD works fine. Is there a problem with the antenna?

if am is working fine, you probably have a bad fm tuner. it is not going to be the antenna.

Hi there,

Well there's lots of possible reasons. The FM receiver portion of the radio is separate from the AM Band receiver, pre-amp, and amplifier sections of the radio. The FM receiver may have simply failed, as well as the CD player portion of the radio. Your car FM needs repair, you need a multimeter to check it or take it to a repair person. Please post further comments for further help or information......

Good Luck!!

Pioneer premier deh-500ub presetting stations

Storing the strongest broadcast
frequencies
BSM (best stations memory) lets you automatically
store the six strongest broadcast frequencies.
1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select BSM in
the function menu.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL to turn BSM on.
The six strongest broadcast frequencies are
stored in the order of their signal strength.
# To cancel, press MULTI-CONTROL again.
Tuning in strong signals
Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those
radio stations with sufficiently strong signals
for good reception.
% Press LOCAL repeatedly to select the
desired setting.
FM: OFF—LEVEL1—LEVEL2—LEVEL3—
LEVEL4
MW/LW: OFF—LEVEL1—LEVEL2
The LEVEL4 setting allows reception of only
the strongest stations, while lower settings let
you receive progressively weaker stations.

You can also perform this operation in the menu
that appears by using MULTI-CONTROL.
Selecting alternative frequencies
When the tuner cannot get a good reception,
the unit automatically searches for a different
station in the same network.
1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select AF in the
function menu.
2 Press MULTI-CONTROL to turn AF on.
# To turn off, press MULTI-CONTROL again.

! Only RDS stations are tuned in during seek
tuning or BSM when AF is on.
! When you recall a preset station, the tuner
may update the preset station with a new frequency
from the station’s AF list. No preset
number appears on the display if the RDS
data for the station received differs from that
of the originally stored station.
! During AF search, sound may be temporarily
interrupted.
! AF can be turned on or off independently for
each FM band.

I need to add and auxillary input to my 2003 chevrolet silverardo bose radio. how can i wire one in?

THE GM12-AUXV2 by P.I.E. will work for you.
It plugs into the factory radio changer port.
With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will allow you to plug in any external audio source, like a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPod, and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device. While this is a direct connect interface, it is only an audio connection and does not allow you to control the external audio device that is connected to it.

2002 monte carlo ss am/fm radio w/cd...all of a sudden (after having car detailed) only one or two fm stations come in...and are somewhat static'y...no longer can receive am stations...cd plays fine...all...

I would suggest that the antenna is bad. If the detailer sent the car threw a car wash or just by coincidence the connection may have failed at the base of the antenna. Cheapest troubleshooting solution is buy a replacement antenna for the car and just connect it to the radio without installing it. If the reception dosen't get any better then replace the radio and return the antenna. To recieve AM you must ground the outside body/base of the antenna (not the whip part) to a bare metal part of the car (door jamb etc.). Most car antennas have a TINY center conductor somewhat like copper leaf in the antenna cable that increases the possibility of failure.
