How do I get the ice maker to produce for the first time

Is the arm that gets pushed up by the ice cubes (in order to stop making ice when it is full) in the down position? it is able to be pushed up and locked so that the icemaker doesn't make at ice and may need to be pushed down.

How to install/replace Icemaker in top bottom fridge

Start by unplugging fridge. Take 1/4 inch nut drive ( sometimes phillips ) remove bottom screw from under ice maker. Next loosen top to screws mostly out. The screws are located in brackets near the ice tray behind the front cover. Ice maker has brakets that the top screws slide into. Lift the icemaker up and out off the screws. Next disconnect the quick connect that is on the back wall of the freezer. Some models are hard wired into the icebox. If this is like yours than disconnect the quick connect from the icemaker itself. Take icemaker out of freezer and connect quick connect into or from new ice maker. Slide the new icemaker onto screws and into place. Screw bottom screw in and than tighten the top two screws. Place ice maker arm down so it can make ice. Give it 24 hours to cycle before it starts producing ice. Most of the time icemaker starts making ice within a couple hours. Plug in fridge.

Kenmore 106.55242400 ice maker knocking noise

most likely you need a new ice maker, one thing that could do this is the white arms that spin around when dumping the ice, sometimes one of the arms bend and jam the ice maker and you'll hear that knocking soundthe arm gets bent, the ice cube gets stuck because the arm can't push it out,,it stops the motor from spinning through it's full cycle and damages it but this is just a guess from something i've seen happen but most likely you need a new ice maker, one other i've seen is the metal arm that you can lift up to shut off the ice maker gets knocked out of the hole it slides into.if you pop off the white cover and get a jumper wire and stick it into the h and t holes you can jump start the ice maker.http://appliantology.org/gallery/image/659-manual-harvest-on-a-whirlpool-modular-ice-maker/

How do I replace a broken ice full guide?

The ice maker is easy to remove once you get the drawer off the slides. There are two plastic clips located near the back of the drawer that attach it to the slides. Pop those out and lift the drawer out. Pull off the plastic ice maker cover to expose the mounting screws. Remove the two screws holding the assembly to the top of the freezer, then slide the ice maker forward about 1/2 inch. It will drop down a few inches, allowing you to unplug the wiring connector and remove it as a unit. The ice full guide is then easily removed.

The ice maker in my 550 bottom drawer makes ice but does not shut off before spilling a few ice cubes into the drawer. In lookin at teh metal arm that exrendes into the tray it appears that it may not...

good day,
Sub Zero makes both a wire device and on some models a round rubber device that slides over the ice level arm. If you don't have one on your model, call your local appliance parts house and check with them. The wire model just clips on, the rubber style has a **** in it. The purpose is to shut the ice maker off before it becomes too full, causing your problem.

Ice maker not working. Refrigerator had been off for 1 week. Now not making ice. There is water coming into the water dispenser but does not seem to be getting to the ice maker,

Hello there
f your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, check these, in this order: It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these: bullet.jpg If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire. bullet.jpg If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire. bullet.jpg In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again. Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly. The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts! Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary. The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.

A rubber piece fellout and there is a white wire hanging out.

This just happened to me.

The waxy piece has a clear plastic bracket, if its not connected, look around your freezer. The waxy piece fits inside the bracket, and attaches to the ice maker, just in front of the ice tray.

The white wire fits inside the waxy piece. It is the thermostat that tells the ice tray when to dump the ice.

This is impossible to feel around for, so you will need to remove at least the bottom freezer compartment as well as the ledge piece from just inside the freezer door. If you are a relatively thin/small person, you can extend the top tray fully outward, and slide underneath. Looking up at the ice maker, the plastic bracket should have a little prong. This prong will attach just behind the ice maker, with the thermostat facing the ice tray.

RF266ABPN French Door Firdge/freezer Ice maker sensor

I found David's solution very helpful and I'll just add to it. Take out the top freezer door-- it just slides out and up. I had a bunch of stuff on the little shelf on the actual door and I had to take some of it off first. The big bottom drawer stays on. The little foam piece was on the floor of the freezer so I picked that up and can see how the little sensor part fits into it. Next, I put a chair next to the open bottom drawer, sat on it and leaned back onto and into the big drawer. I had to torque my head to actually get right under the ice maker. I am 5'5" so I don't know the heck David did it! Anyway, there is a little "slot" next to the last ice cube mold closest to the door. This is where the foam piece goes in. The slot where this piece goes has some raised lines sticking out on each side-- I wouldn't call them brackets and the foam thing doesn't stay in well by itself. However, on the right side of the ice maker, near that last cube, is a little hook. So I slid foam piece up with the sensor tucked in, facing the ice cube mold. I wrapped the tail/wire around the bottom of the foam piece and also the hook, so that it kind of holds the foam piece up in there, kind of cradling it. That was my solution, we'll see if it works!

Ice maker not getting water after changing filter

    Check the following:
Is the freezer door closed completely?
Is the ice storage bin installed correctly?
Is there ice in the storage bin?
Has the ice frozen in the storage bin?
Is ice stuck in the delivery chute?
Has the wrong ice been added to the storage bin? Use only
cubes produced by the current ice maker.
Has the ice melted around the auger (metal spiral) in the
    ice bucket?
Dump the ice cubes and clean the ice storage
    bin.
Is the ice dispenser stalling while dispensing “crushed”
    ice?
Change the ice button from “crushed” to “cubed.” If
cubed ice dispenses correctly, depress the button for
“crushed” ice and begin dispensing again.
Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Ice will stop
dispensing when the arm is held in too long. Wait 3 minutes
for dispenser motor to reset before using again.

The ON/OFF switch is located on the top right side of the freezer
    compartment.
To turn the ice maker on, slide the control to the ON (left) position.
To manually turn the ice maker off, slide the control to the OFF
    (right) position.
NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice maker
sensors will automatically stop ice production, but the control will
remain in the ON (left) position

    REMEMBER:
Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice. Discard the
first three batches of ice produced.
The quality of your ice will be only as good as the quality of the
water supplied to your ice maker. Avoid connecting the ice
maker to a softened water supply. Water softener chemicals
(such as salt) can damage parts of the ice maker and lead to
poor quality ice. If a softened water supply cannot be avoided,
make sure the water softener is operating properly and is well
    maintained

The Dispenser Lock (on some models)
Your dispenser can be turned off for easy cleaning or to prevent
unintentional dispensing by small children and pets.
NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the product, to
the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply deactivates the
dispenser levers. The ice and water dispensers will not work.
Style 1: Press the LOCK BUTTON to lock the dispenser. Press the
UNLOCK button to unlock the dispenser.
Style 2: Press and hold the LOCK OUT button to lock the
dispenser. Press and hold the LOCK OUT button a second time to
    unlock the dispenser.
