i have a hunter model#44428. My thermostat went dead on me and I thought it was the battery. I replaced it and it displays low battery even though they are brand new. I've went through 6 new batteries and my display is still blank. I finally got my display on my thermostat to come on, but now my a/c doesn't blow cold. I need some help.

Hi,
I can't see a thermostat for the reference given (30124). According to my listings that's an air conditioner.

I do have the manuals for Hunter - Just click HERE for a list to the PDF documents you can download and print off.

Thanks for using Fixya, If it has solved your problem, please rate as such. thank you.

How do I set my hunter thermostat so when the heat pump comes on, how to set so the thermostat and heat strips from the heat pump sinc with each other. The model number is 44860

call a service tech, this sounds complicated. To avoid using too much energy or burning down your life savings in heating bills, a certain sequence should be followed when the thermostat operates. The actual sequence will differ depending on what equipment you have available to control, as well as your location and heating and cooling loads. The money you could save by having it done right the first time will quickly pay for a service call, then keep on saving you money after that.

Why does it default to 60 degrees when on heating?

it could be because the batteries inside the thermostat are bad or missing. if this is the case it could lose its program and 60 degrees is set at the factory as a safety.

Is this a heat pump? Look in the thermostat. You should have something like the following.
Red wire to R terminal
Green wire to G terminal
Yellow wire to Y terminal
White wire to W or W1
Blue or Orange wire to the O or B terminal
Brown wire to C terminal.

Let me know what you have in the thermostat. The wire colors are not always the same.

I have a Red, White, Blue and Green wire , need to wire a Hunter B01 MOdel or 44110 Thermostat has the following ports available G, RC, RH (RC & RH Have a jumper between them), Y/O, W/B, Y/1

From what you describe you have a heat only system with no AC. If that is so, then you would wire it as follows.

Red wire = RC (leave the jumper in place)
Green wire = G
White wire = W/B
Blue wire = is unused because the thermostat is battery powered and does not require a common wire.

I reccomend you consider not using the Hunter T-stat. They are so extremely problem prone and unreliable. You will be much better off with a Honeywell or White Rodgers T-stat.

You will also need to program the Hunter T-stat for your system per the instructions.

Hunter 44110 programmable thermostat not turning off ac

You may and an anolog stat and the old one was digital if so it won't work. Digital sends info to system anolog is just a set of points open or closed. Digital can carry tons of info to system like a computer. Like comparing a computer to a rock. Sorry but you need to go back to proper type stat.
