Question about Magicard Tango 2 Printer

1 Answer

Printer issue...:( When printing IDcards something is going wrong somewhere. The card should look like: Front-Top org.logo, topmid. picture, Bot.mid. IDnumber, Bot. The text "officer", Back-Mid. Officer name. So, the case is: When I printed the first card, everything was included except IDnumber. Then again after some new attempts everything was again included except the text "officer". After about 20-30 attempts or so everything was on, except the officer name on the backside of the card. Wierd and frustrating stuff. What can it be? Help! Best regards A frustrated guy

Hi MaCaTa2,

It can be frustrating when things aren't going smoothly.
Sounds like you're wasting a lot of dye film and cards too!

What program are you printing the badges from?
You have a very 'paper' size with this type of printer.
If you select 'Magicard Printer Series' as the printer, you will then see a special paper size called 'CR80 Edge To Edge'. This is basically the size of a credit card. (2 1/8 x 3 3/8" (54 x 85.6mm). Check your font sizes are not too big. Any text printed on the back of the card is on page 2 of 2 (on the Tango model, a Rio would feed a second card).
Experiment with an application like MS Word, where you can clearly see the 'pages'.
Create a new word document, straight away go to 'File, Print', select 'Magicard Printer Series' from the printers list, then 'Close' (not 'Print'). Next, go to 'File', 'Page Setup', for the paper size choose 'CR80 Edge to Edge', set all the margins to '0' (this is a 'full bleed' printer.
You will now see a credit card size page to work on. If you fill this page (or insert a page break), you continue onto page 2 (the card back - only available on Tango).

I hope this helps.

That should of course read 'you have a very SMALL paper size with this type of printer'.

How do I open the cover to find the fuse

Why do you want to locate the fuse? If the fuse is bad your whole unit might not work at all. It sounds more like a pull-through-paper issue; something is making the printer stop in mid-feeding because it senses that something is wrong with either what is being printed on, or the feeder mechanics need adjustment.

How to print in black and white only with my canon MG5150

When you choose a file for printing and hit ctrl+p or file->print in the new window you must choose your printer. After that in the same window somewhere must have a button "Printing Preferences" or "Printer Settings" or something like that.7_9_2012_6_45_17_am.jpg
When the new window is open search somewhere in the tabs and options "Grayscale printing" or "black and white printing" or something like that.7_9_2012_6_50_22_am.jpg

Then click OK and your printing must be black and white.

P.S. The pictures I attached are for Canon MP250, but it must be something similar in Canon MG 5150.

Frequently, when printing a card, the ribbon gets stuck on top of the card and it goes under the exit roller, forcing the printer to stall. I then have to open the cover, remove the card, wind back the...

According to your problem, first check that you have put the card in the printer properly. These types of printers are very sensitive. It can make malfunction for a little wrong with card or also with bad quality card or printer.

Check the ribbon quality or change the ribbons which are not in good condition. Re prepare those ribbons in cartridge and then install the cartridge properly. Check the printer settings also and reboot it. Try this it will help you.

Brother 7340 wont print on envelope just keeps getting stuck, tried opennig the back like the book says but still gets stuck

Are you trying to print from the main paper tray with the envelope or from the auxiliary single page feeder? The auxiliary insert should be directly under the "Brother" logo on the front of the printer. Insert the envelope there. If it's a standard light weight envelope and it gets stuck still then I'd suggest there is a paper jam somewhere or possibly the fuser is going bad.

2. Press and hold the LEFT arrow (<).
3. Press the CANCEL (X) button and release both.
4. Press the CHECK button, 2ndary Service will be displayed. Press CHECK again to access.
5. Use the < or > button to navigate the secondary service menu.
6. To remove the secondary service menu from the menu tree, power-cycle the product.

- access 2ndary service menu

- try printing something
- if issue perists, send something to be printed and before it comes out, open up the front cover to stop the printing process, take out the page from the cartdridge area
- if the issue is noticeable on the top of the page but not on the bottom, the problem is with the fusing assembly
- if the issue is noticeable on the top of the page and on the bottom, the problem is with the transfer belt or one of the toner cartdridges

Followed instructions for i860 error5200 and now get a new issue

You will need a new printhead, you only remove to see if that's the problem, wrong or missing cartridge error means the printhead has gone bad.

HP Deskjet, Set to Black & White; but still prints with color!

Bronze, hopefully this is a logical issue: Assuming you're on WinXP > Go to Start>Control Panels>Printers (and faxes).
Find the printer in question in the list (maybe there's only one or 2 listed) and 'Right-click' on the icon > go down to "Printing Preferences" (about second/third down the list).
In here you will be able to set the printers default settings. I'm not 100% familiar with HPs printing dialog, but there maybe a setting there for either 'Black & White' and 'Grayscale' (albeit it should be greyscale, anyway...) if you choose black and white your printing will not have any mid-tone, so if there's a choise, choose 'Grayscale'.
You can set other features here which will become the new default each time you go to print something - personally I set to 'Draft' or 'Fast Draft' mode by default, that way when I just print out rubbish, I am saving "lots" of ink and if I want something in good quality, I change it at time of printing.
Now, there are some programs and files that "remember" you last print settings, so if you've used a colour print setting previously, that file may still pring in colour, even though the new defaults are mono (black & white). So, print using the new defaults and save the file when finished. It's unlikely the case with OpenOffice, but, I don't know. We'll tackle that as we get to it.
So, if that has not cured the problem, please let me know.

Print quality with Fargo DTC500 printer

You might go to the print driver settings to change the way the printer prints the card. This can be found in the printing preferences. Go to the device options tab and choose "rotate front 180 degrees". Then print a card. This may fix the problem.

If not, try downloading the latest print driver from

No power ON

Here is what HP suggests: Issue The top access door on the printer may be open, or there may be something wrong with the print cartridge. Solution 1. Check to ensure that the top access door is firmly closed. 2. If the light continues to blink, open the top access door. When the top access door is opened, the print cradle moves so the yellow arrow on top of the cradle points to a drawing of a cartridge. Each drawing describes a symptom. Here is a link to describe the pictures at the top of your printer: It might be that the cover's tab is broken (the tab is what tells the printer that the cover is closed)
