Re: Power shuts off after 30 seconds
First, try to vacuum out the vent holes on rear of set. Lack of air will cause fans not to run properly. If that doesn't help, the next thing I would suspect is a lamp. Pull the lamp according to directions in manual or on set, then reseat it back in place and reinstall cover. But make sure not to touch the glass. Sometimes any of these simple things will cause shutdown. If all else fails get part number of lamp and replace that first. You will eventually need a lamp wheather it is the source of this problem or not. Good luck on this one, Russmann.

It seems that your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. Then after it has reset, it tries to startup again, over and over, it would do this until if fails completely. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur.
You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done.
AKAI PT50DL14XSMS - LAMP INDICATOR (GREEN) FLASHES ABOUT 20 TIMES - CAN HEAR FAN RUNNING AND LOOKING THRU LAMP GRILLES CAN SEE BRIGHT BULB LITE - NO PICTURE COMES ON - AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS EVRYTHING SHUTS DOWN
Sounds like you have a bad green picture tube that has failed. To check this out; remove front speaker grill, remove small panel, you will see three CRT's (pictue tubes) sticking down, remove the little board on the middle tube then restore power. If TV stays on more then likely the CRT is bad but not always the driver on board could also be bad, check voltages.
it maybe you blue crt (picture tube). mine turn blue and then shuts off. i got it repaired for 460. 300 for the part 160 to install. you can try to adjust the voltage settings behind the speaker screen and see if that clears the problem. if not its you blue crt.
I would suggest that you guys turn the unit off when this happens, unplug the unit for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and see if this helps. If this does not solve your problem, you should call 1-800-448-2244, so a service center in your local area can be found for further assistance.
