Braun shaver 7505.

On/Off switch stuck ON. ie trimmer. Also shaver head stuck and wont swivel.

  • bushey333 Jul 02, 2008

    I solved this myself.

With a little force, I found the switch moved and I could see a small, flimsy, flat silver metal part was loose and interfering with the mechanism.

I was able to remove it through the opening where the blue thumb pad was.

Thus the switch works perfectly now.

As your 'solution' was counter- productive, and almost cost me over $100 for a new shaver, I'm requesting a refund on fee payed to you.

I shall try your service another time.

    Yours sincerely, W Little

Greetings,

Need to replace the switch. If you have the skills to disassemble the unit, proceed. Otherwise replacing the shaver will cost you less than having it repaired.

Keep us posted and thank you for using our service.

As "applying FORCE" most of the time BREAKS stuffs, I DO NOT recommend it.

I suggested to replace the switch and with a warning - "If you have the skills to disassemble the unit, proceed".

Common sense MUST kick-in, while you're at it (disassembled the unit), check-out the faulty part (in which you did).

Kindly read out the whole suggestion thoroughly.
Just want to CLARIFY things and I am not after RATINGS or PAYMENT.

Batteries run down faster (Braun 7505)

You will find batteries at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

To open the shaver body, you will first need to gently pry off the 'cap' on the bottom that surrounds the hole where the cord plugs in. Once removed the side grips will pull off revealing 4 screws. Remove screws to take off back cover and access insides. Inner parts simply lift out. Reassemble in reverse order

Braun 7505 switch won't slide down to off position. battery has to run down to stop. What can I do?

Guest solution (2008) to Pry out the blue button worked great for me. Not sure what the semi-circular shapes under the button were for but the switch works fine now. The only down side was that prying the button off broke the tab holding it, but this is no big deal. Saved me the cost of a new razor and I like the Braun 7505 model because it works great and is smaller than some of the newer models.

Braun shaver 7505 trimming blade slide will only move between position 3 (trimming) part way to 2. It will not go to 2 or 1(off). This happened suddenly. Shaver operates with cord, but must be unplugged to...

The trimmer and on/off switch are part of the same mechanism. The problem is that the switch apparatus is broken and preventing the trimmer from sliding up. You can't repair it without replacing it.
This is a hard part to find for your model and I don't know where to direct you to purchase one.
I have another suggestion which will be a good remedy especially if your shaver has original batteries and is over 3 or 4 years old. This suggestion is to replace the whole 'lower unit'. This would be the entire handle portion of the shaver. You can upgrade to a nicer model at the same time. Take a look at this compatible lower unit at shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

Braun Syncro 7505 Shaver, Need Power Cord.

If you need batteries or PC board, this will raise the price considerably and you may find a less expensive option of buying a replacement. You will also find similar replacement units at shaveroutlet.com

Braun 8585 maintenance

Look at the bottom of the shaver where the AC cord plugs in. Carefully pry the small black piece of plastic out of the base. Once you have this out, the two chrome side pieces will fall off, and you can split the shaver in half to expose its inner workings.
