Question about Kenwood DNX7120 Car GPS Receiver

1 Answer

DNX7120 issue with VOL increase button. When this button is pressed once, the volume skyrockets to max, VOL decrease button does not work right away to lower the volume, nor does the ATT button. Unit needs to be turned off and on again before VOL decrease button and ATT button will work again, however same scenerio, as soon as VOL increase button is pushed once, car audio volume instantly climbs to max volume

I had the same issue. You can use the on screen volume buttons on screen to stop issue and don't use the physical buttons anymore. Watch out about a month after the volume problem started all physical buttons on my DXN7120 stopped working. There are a few reports of this online, I have not found a fix yet.

Do you accidentally have it muted? The Mute button, located on PASSPORT's top panel and SmartCord. Have you turned up the volume on it? Volume Control (VOL) To increase or decrease the audio volume, press and hold the (+) or (-) volume control buttons located on the top case. A sample alert tone will be generated, along with a corresponding bar-graph on the display. Once you have reached your desired volume level, simply release the button. This level will be stored in memory. In Preferences Auto Volume is the default. This feature will increase the audio alert level automatically when the ambient noise in the vehicle is high. Good luck.

I have 2 Eclipse CLD MP3 players and I cannot get the volume to change from 18 on either of them

you just need to hit the "VOL" button once, which will light up the # of the volume setting (18 is factory set). then you toggle the left or right arrows to either decrease or increase the volume # to the desired setting. i think the highest is 32.
