Question about RCA DRC290

1 Answer

Rca drc290 i am having problems with my drc290. basically the blue light comes on the power button and then it sounds like it is shuffling through the disc slots....but then nothing happens and it powers off and nothing displays on the screen...i checked to see if a dvd was stuck inside but i can't see it if it is and for some reason you have to unplug it and plug it back in, in order to get the power to work again? HELP ME....it's not mine it's my boyfriend and I know he is going to blame it on me...But I didn't touch it last he did and then when I go to watch something it's not working....?

Same problem, my mother in law called me to check it out. I get the blue light when I power on, and the only responsive buttons are the power and play, It shuffles a little then powers off without any more functionality at all. I have to unplug and replug it in to even get the blue light back on. I have no clue what's wrong. There are no discs in the unit.

Mine alternates between the welcome screen and loading. Before that it would attempt to load the disc, then display "no disc"

I am having the same problem.  When I pulled the player out from the entertainment stand, I noticed what sounded like broken parts rattling around inside.  I took the cover off and found a capacitor had swelled and popped it's cover.  Tomorrow, I'll go to Radio **** to get another to replace it with.  I am fairly confident this will work because I just changed caps out on my two year broken Phillips DVP642 dvd player.  I will post results when I am finished.

Will my rca dvd player, DRC 290 play each of my five dvds in sequence without a prompt from me at the end of each dvd? If so, how do I set this up?

It will not do this during basic playback. You may be able to use the programmed Playback. Press Program when the unit is not playing back a DVD. Then use the numeric input buttons to choose the title or track. Then use the up/down and right left arrows to enter additional titles to playback.

You can find your manual here: http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/manual.aspx?product=125

I hope this helps.

RCA DRC290 "No Disk"

The noise you hear is an attemp to read the disk, which fails. If you can gain access to the optics assembly, try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that fails to resolve the problem, the optics are likely failed and will need to be replaced.

Hope this helps,

Dan

If not so much, better bring it to a professional to remove the movie.

Ipod shuffle 2nd gen problem

Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with iPod shuffle. Try
these steps one at a time until the problem is resolved. If one of the following doesn’t
help, read on for solutions to specific problems.
Reset iPod shuffle by turning it off, waiting five seconds, and then turning it back on
again.
Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod shuffle in iTunes.
Restart your computer, and make sure you have the latest software updates
installed.
Reinstall iTunes software from the latest version on the web.

If the status light blinks orange when you press a button, the iPod shuffle buttons are
disabled. Press and hold Play/Pause (’) for about three seconds, until the status light
blinks green.
Connect iPod shuffle to a high-power USB port on your computer. Your iPod shuffle
battery may need to be recharged.
Turn iPod shuffle off, wait five seconds, and then turn it on again.
You may need to restore iPod shuffle software
