Sim card not recognised - Ericsson Cell Phones

Handset is Ericsson S868, which was working fine - then, for no apparent reason, when turning phone on it gave "Insert SIM card" error message. Put same SIM card into A1018s and it's working fine. Would prefer to get 868 back up & runninf because it has features I use on a daily basis.

    Regards,

    Bruce

Hi Bruce, dont know if i can be much help but will offer the following advice. although it sounds like that the phone has been locked to an alternative network to your sim card, if this is the case then you will have to buy a sim card for the same network as the phone, but i assume you have thought of that, you could try cleaning the sim and contacts in the phone with soft cloth, alternatively, put sim back in the old phone and call your service provider and explain the problem, they should have you up and running in no time. hope this helps, i cant think of anything else, if i do i'll be in touch.
Steve

Phone will not recognise sim card

I had the same problem with my NEW Huawei Ascend. My solution was that I had to trade it for another new one. I wouldn't have even known about it since it was my first experience with a smart phone. But I wanted a bit more memory and that is how I realized it wasn't recognizing the card. Hope this helps.

Not recognising sym

Is it not recognising any sim or is your mobile locked with any particular network? If the mobile is not recognising any sim...then probably there is a problem with the mobile..take it to a nearby mobile shop and check whether the mobile is in good condition. If the mobile is locked with any particular network it will not accept other networks. It will only work with the locked network. It will not recognize other sim cards. If that is the case then you can unlock the phone to make it accept other networks. To unlock you can approach UnBBlock.com (especially for Blackberry models) or Simpleunlocking.com and remove the network lock.Once unlocked it will accept recognize other sim cards.

"Insert SIM" is shown when SIM card already present. How do I get SIM card to work or be recognised by the phone, OR how do I get the info off it if it's damaged?

First All Check:
1.Confirm whether same sim card is working in other h.s or not.
2.Make sure the sim slot is o.k. only try these two.
3.If all the above steps fails, check the SIM card connector pins for damage.
if so try to get serviced.
4.if ur sim card is good then it is problum form sim card ic u have u raplace it with SMD.
u can make it jumper mean u can fix this prob with out sim card is for this contact.
5.take sim connector slight up by pin then cheak by inserting sim.
6.hot air gun on sim i.c. then cheak it.
Last Option:
IF make sure that the sim card hasn't been damamged at all sO Please You Go to Service
& Sim Office and Get the Duplicate Sim Same Your No From Office Oprator

After charging W350i not recognising SIM says, 'Insert SIM Card'. But the same SIM card is operative in other mobile. How can retrieve Phone contacts? Please help.

make sure if sim reader is not pin damaged or water damaged? if problem persist i think you can connect your device without simcard and copy all data to your pc, then give some repairer to check maybe need to flash (if flash you will lose your data).
or try to put your mobile without battery 2 days and then switch on to see may be this problem solves.with S.E. this problem a normal.

Bought a Lebara sim card today but when i put it in my phone nothing came up about lebara atall...is it possible that the phone is to old to recognise a new sim card?

Hello,
Hope you're having a good day
It is highly unlikely that a phone would not recognise a SIM card. It doesn't really matter how old. Please could you let me know your phone model so I could help you further?

Sim card not recognised

Hi,
Try inserting a different Sim card and check if it recognizes. If not you need to replace the sim card plate in the phone.
