This varies from laptop to laptop, when new a it should not run less than one hour (that is with heavy use), I have seen some brands run as long as 3 hours (top end models)

How do i get the computer out of hybrination on start up

First is to press the power button like you would normally do to power up. If the battery is too low in charge you may have to bring it up with the charger to a minimum charge so it can turn on. Another idea is to hold the power button for 5 seconds, giving it time to fully shutdown then power up normally. If that isn't the answer try removing the battery if it's a laptop and reconnecting it, connect the charger, wait a few minutes if the battery didn't have a good charge and see if it will wake up.

Some computers may not wake up in certain hibernation modes but most will if the BIOS is set for S3 hibernation mode. Obviously it does have to boot to check that.

My CF-29 has battery issues

I'm just thinking that this might be caused by your power supply unit that came with the laptop although I'm not totally sure about this. When you are at home what I would recommend you do is remove the battery and just use the laptop whilst it's connected to the power supply as this preserves the life of the battery. Obviously charge the battery up and when it's full use the battery alone without the power supply unit. Carry out this test if you haven't done so already and connect the power supply but remove the battery and see if you face any problems. If it is the power supply then you may need to replace that. Good luck. Andrew

Pasario 6500 laptop will not charge, charger is plugged in, turned on and laptop is running on mains power but it will not charge the battery

Most likely your battery stopped recharging. Depending on what type it is, and how old it is, it could be dead by now and needs replacing.
Most laptops can operate connected to their power supplies, even when the battery is taken out.
Some batteries need to be fully discharged for them to take a new charge and perform as new, up to a 1,000 times, according to their manufacturer's specs. Others have what's called a "memory effect". This prevents them from taking a full charge, especially when connected to the laptop almost 100% of the time, and using up some of their charge only ocassionally, when they are disconnected from their power supplies.
You can get replacement ones on eBay for less than the manufacturer's advertised price.
Good luck!

Battery not running

Possible that whoever replaced your battery sent you the defective one back. Note the serial and model numbers on the battery, then request another one. When you receive the replacement, do a full recharge. Most new batteries come already half charged. Even in this state, take time to fully charge it (between 4 and 8 hours depending on the type and model). Then try running it on battery power. If the charge holds more than 2 hours on a new battery, youre good; less than an hour new, its defective. If after all of this still not resolved, request the company honor their warranty (usually a limited one year with purchase).

Battery problem-plugged in, not charging. Lenovo 3000 N100.Type:0768.Model:24U.S.no:L3LA215. Please offer a solution.

Had the same problem with a manufactured refurb, would go to 79 %, if you go to power options, change plan settings, change advance power settings, then to the Lenovo energy management tab, press the big enable Lenovo energy management, click on the blue gear to the left of the question mark, if "Optimize for Battery lifespan" is selected it will only charge the battery to 80%, change this to "Optimize for Battery Runtime" and it will charge to 100%

How long do I charge battery for when using for first time- no manual provided with laptop

The best way to charge any new battery is to charge it to fullest the first time fully and then drain the battery to full before charging the second time. You should drain your battery completely in order to get a proper backup.

Toshiba Satellite 1135-S125: Battery (new and Old) discharge while plugged into AC, then laptop shuts off eventually

Besides checking and cleaning the battery and charger terminals. Boot up and go into bios. Look at the status of the battery in bios and there is a calibrate function. Follow directions and calibrate each battery. If the battery is bad (wore out) pitch it. the new battery should be ok durring calibration.

On laptops it is highly recommended that U do not leave the power cord plugged in for very long periods of time. A laptop should be turned off when not in use and run on battery to keep the operating circuits (along with battery live) functional. In this case change is good. Always provide good ventilation. It's called a laptop, but that is the worst place to use it. flat solid surface with lots of airflow.

Ur power supply may already be damaged from adverse use as described above. If the calibration does not correct the problem, repair shop time. Over heating can shorten the life of the processor also.
Good Luck

Very short battery life on laptop currently lasts about 14 mins from being fully charged to empty

time to get a new battery. For future reference, do not use battery and AC at the same time b/c it will kill the battery. Use one or the other (unless battery is being charge).
