Question about Pioneer PRO-710HD 64" Rear Projection Television
The green color convergence is way off on the bottom half of the screen. The top half seems to be ok.
If parts of your screen obey your commandes while other parts do not, or if the whole thing is frozen, replace your conv ICs. On other brands I would suspect cold solder joinnts, but I have not found this on the Pioneers.
They usually use the STK 392-110, but double check on your model. The easiest to get upgrade/replacement, which is much stronger thatn the 110, is the 392-180. I have been having great success with them. Get them at Union Electronics, near Chicago. I believe Melissa is my contact person, but anyone there can help you.
Be generous with the heat sink compound you use - don't starve it, they need that heat transfer from the ICs to the heat sink to be complete and 100%. Clean off all dried out compound from the heatsinks before you put any new stuff on them. A small paint scraper is ideal.
You may have to tighten up your convergence afterwards.
