I have a samsung flat screen model # LNT4665FX/XAA that is about three years old, when I turn it on it clicks about 6 times before coming on. What could be the issue? It also seems to flash pixels occassionally. Does it need to be cleaned to remove dust from contacts? Power packThanks so much for your help

Plasma is old technology and it is 16 years old and made in Mexico, the worst place for quality control. It is time for a new one, or at least an upgrade. Or you can get a board kit and take a chance on fixing it.

go to a repair shop and see if it can be replaced and the cost? or buy a new tv if it is not worth it.

your start-up problem is in the power supply , open the set up look for capacitors that have a bulge in the top replace them and its fixed

First of all stop trying to turn the tv on because you can damage a second board by repeatedly attempting to power the set up after a power supply failure. I have seen it on this model. Usually what happens to this set is the power supply filter capacitors fail. If you were to look at them you would see they are physically bulging. These capacitors are rated at 2200uf/10volts. They can be changed with a higher voltage capacitor to outlast the original components. If you choose to replace the entire power supply more than likely this will happen again in a few years. Anyone who can solder somewhat can replace these parts and repair the problem. A reasonable repair cost for this repair would be between 95-175 at a repair shop. Good luck, Russmann. You're welcome.

Sounds like the power supply board has failed, VERY common problem. You can call 1-800-samsung for the nearest service center.

It would be a lot cheaper if you just replace the two caps that have gone bad. Just get a cheap solder pencil from the store and about an inch of solder and you are in business.
The Power Supply Board is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.

Check the capacitors on the power board. Samsungs are known for faulty capacitors.

Bad power relay get it fixed before you have more issues the psu cost around $25 bucks on ebay good luck!

The first place to start is with the Main bd. The second cause would be the T-con bd. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot to find out and repair the set.
