I had the same problem with my d73. i contacted samsung and they have done a repair(foc because it was only 1 week out of warranty) the report says they have replaced the zoom barrel gears and that the batteries i have used are not strong enough,they must be at least 2100 milliamps and rechargeable.

Hello my camera is a samsung digimax d73 and when i turn it on it says its locked and would like to know how to corrected thanks ernie
SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
