I have three ceiling fans, whose speeds are regulated by capacitors. What I need is to control all three fans from a single control?

You can buy a 5 amp fan control. If you can find it, a 3 amp would work better. Also, since these fans are low-end, you could even use a 2 amp fan control.

Light will not turn off using the pull chain. I have replaced pull switch but makes no difference. ???

Sounds like you bought your Hunter at Home Depot or Lowes, Take it back and get yourself a good fan, one with at least a 13 degree blade pitch.

Ceiling fan does not work but lights do

Could be either or if you installed it yourself I would recheck the wiring.................If that is correct it could be the motor..........

another thing I have seen sometimes is the pull switch doesn't reset, you can try pushing the pull chain inwards and see if you hear a click, if you do, then the switch isn't resetting after its been pulled. I have that problem with 2 ceiling fans myself, and all I gotta do is just push the chain inward and reset the switch.
Do it with the power off, if you want to try, just to be safe, if you hear the click, the pull the chain again and listen for a click, then turn the power on. If that works than it is the switch. If not then it is either the wiring or the motor.

If unsure contact a electrician or a trusted handyman

Hi, My cement mixer 240v supply lead has been pulled out of the connection box. Can anyone supply me with a wiring diagram. the only detail on the box is that it was made by POWERFLO drum capacity...

Do you still have the wire with plug end?
The mixer has a switch.
Is the mixer reverse-able?
Or is the mixer 2-speed?

What do you mean about 'one plug' and 'second plug?'

Buy cheap multimeter at hardware. Install battery. Set to read ohms.
Green wire is always ground.
Test each wire to each other.
For example if you test green wire to metal side of mixer, the meter will show full open circuit.
Test each other wire to each other wire. When voltage travels through the motor, then there will be ohm reading.
Move the switch to each position, and see which wires test differently.
Try to identify wires going to switch.

240Volts will have two hot wires.
One or both the Hot wires should connect directly to switch, depending if switch turns one hot wire on-off, or turns both hot wires on-off.
In a two speed system, or reversing system, the switch will send power to different coils on motor.

Replacing a pull switch on an Encon fan. 4 wires. Didn't label wires before I pulled them out. Number on old switch is 1282M and 17292101 with A B C D labels. Can you tell me which wires go where? ...

I have just figured out the wiring to my Encon 5TD42WHC ceiling fan. (This is not to say your fan won't be different.) You can't use just any switch; the switches vary in operation. See the images attached. Good luck, and be careful working with AC voltages.

if its a coiled "nichrome"wire, get the wattage off of it and order a re-string kit from an appliance parts retailer and re-string it yourself,if its a solid-element as in an oven bake element then go direct to the company web site for replacement cause its probably a special shaped element

It is really easy to change the motor yourself. It is about a 15 minute job. You just need to find your model number and then you can buy the complete motor assembly. https://www.centralvacuumstores.com/model_number_help.php

Electrical question

I bought a AlohaBreeze Pedestal fan from yard sale, been told that it works fine. It did worked fine for sometime. Since it was too dirty, I tried opening it & cleaned it. Works fine for sometime but when switched off for a while & on it, I can just hear the motor sound but the blade doesn't move. If I open it & adjust the knobs, works out for sometime. Everything inside parts seem to be fine. Can anyone suggestion some solution that could make work fine thru'out.
