Very grainy pictures indoors at night

My indoor photos under lighting at night are very grainy and I don't know why. Sometimes they're fluro lights and other times soft lighting - it's grainy no matter what. I have flash on, and use a variety of mode settings to try to get best picture but to no avail. What are all my best settings for indoor night shots to avoid grainy photo.

Cheers

What is the best setting for the DMC - TZ7 to take day photographs and night photographs - day ones are very bright and night ones very grainy.

If you can adjust the ISO sensitivity to a lower number then the graininess will be reduced.

However, by reducing the ISO, you will need a slower shutter speed and a larger aperture. A tripod, table or other support may be necessary.

The "noise reduction" setting on the camera can also be adjusted a step up.

Taking pictures at full resolution and fine compression will also help.

Overall, at least try lowering the ISO, and using the flash brighter.

I purchased olympus E620. What is the best setting for setting in low lights, for indoors. I tried adjusing ISO, but the pics appear grainy. Whein it's in auto, pics are too dark. When I use the art...

In general, you will have to play with the functions as each camera and indoor lighting situation is different. Sometimes, cameras have some nice presets (like candlelight) and I have had some success with presets.

Otherwise, depending on the indoor circumstances you will need to play with ISO - 800 or 1600 is typical for low light settings. However, I have heard that graininess appears with your camera at around 1600. It is a problem with your model of camera.

You can also try playing with the white balance settings as well.

Good luck!

I have a Canon Power Shot A720. Outdoor photos are beautiful. Indoor photos are always grainy/blurry...a lot of noise. I have tried the ISP feature but there are only two choices... 1. Auto or 2....

Hi Usually outdoor picture are good within small compact camera. They designed like that. But now your unit just have flash pcb defective. When flash function work, your picture will be good indoor. Regarding your flash unit would be brown fuse or replacement of flash unit. It is 50 and 50 chance. Your local repair shop would charge around $35 to 95 depend on what they really want to charge. Thanks and best regard!

Indoor photos are generally poor quality - PLEASE HELP!

Raise the ISO, set the camera to take pics at the maximum megapixels and highest quality, check your white balance....what is it set for?...auto white balance or something else? Experiment with different settings under different lights to see what you like best.

Blurry indoor photos

blurry pictures often comes from the slightest movement when the pictures is snapped.
Don;t know if that is your problem or not try a photo tripod and see if that helps or check your trouble shooting area of your amnual. if you don't have the manual go to this site for any type of manual::::

Dark pictures at times on auto is there a fix? Camera Fuji s1000

when you think that there is less light or whn you are taking a picture indoors or during night times under auto then reduce the ISO acordingly like if the lighting is of the indoor lighting then you can place the ISO at 80-200

if outdoor and during night time 80 or below and so on depending on the light conditions

the lower the light the lower the ISO
this would increase the shutter time though improving exposure quality

happy clicking

Polaroid i1035: Bad quality pictures, appear grainy and fuzzy

The grainy effect has to do do with the ISO setting, try adjusting that. A higher ISO is generally better for darker conditions. I have noticed that this camera frequently takes grainy images.

Not good photos indoors very grainy and bad light looking photos

Auto mode in poor lighting (generally always indoors without flash) sets high ISO, which produces ugly amount of noise (graininess). What you need is to keep the ISO under 200 by either:
Shooting well lit scenes, using flash etc.
or
Uusing one of the manual programs (M, S, A, P) and setting the sensitivity via the F-menu.

Grainy Pictures

This camera with the ISO set to 100 ASA, the electronic zoom turned off, and with the mode on Automatic "A", should take very good pictures.

I would give the camera to the manufacture for service, and include some samples of what the results are. It would be recomended to do this while the camera is under warranty.

White lines when you take photos in light, but perfect in the dark

The problem lies in you camera's CCD unit which is located on the back of the lens held on be 3 small screws it could also be a setting in the camera's menu try going into the menu and reseting the camera to default it works some times if that does not work than you need the ccd replaced pretty easy fix I fixed 1 with the same problem about two weeks ago for someone it happens I hope this helps you out.
