By default the D80 hides several of the more technical menus so that ... you activate either the 'Full' or 'My menu' option from thesetup menu.

Err

The ERR message is not a good thing. Read page 132 of the D80 Manual. Also, try a factory reset found on page 129 of the manual. On the left side of the camera is the terminal cover, inside below the USB connector is the reset switch. If that does not work call Nikon digital 1-800-645-6689.

D80 "battery drained' and "F"sign when pressing release button

Pls make sure of the following:

- You are using original Nikon batteries (generic batteries gave a similar problem to me)
- The aperture ring of your camera is correctly placed

Nikon d80

RESET Find the two buttons with green dots next to them on the top right of the D80. They are the +/- * and AF * buttons. Hold them both down for a few seconds. The top LCD blinks and everything is back to normal.

My present White Balance won't Work on my D80. When I press and hold the buttons, nothing happens. The buttons work independently on other functions, just not this one. Thanks!!

Note That you must keep the WB button pressed with your left thumb while you move the main front-right dial with your right thumb if you are trying to use the WB button. Pressing WB once will not change the WB settings.

Another way to change these settings is through the cameras menus. Hope this helps.

I have a Nikon D80 that I inherited about a year ago. Not exactly sure what I am doing but all has been fine until today. when I press the menu button to view pics, nothing happens. Am wondering if I have...

To view the pics on a D80, you do not click on the Menu button. Instead, you should click on the green button with a triangle shape pointing to the right. That is how you can review your pics.

To move between pics after clicking the button, press the left/right button or move your main dial clockwise/counter-clockwise

To close your preview session, just click on the same button with the triangle.

Aperture cant be changed on manual mode

Maybe a lens problem. Try to re-seat the lens and play with the Aperture test button on the right side of the camera (near your right finger)
