Need to know what color wire coming from motor itself and where they go.....wiring diagram on side only tells leg 1 and leg two and so on, but the wires coming from the motor are not attached to those leads that are marked L1 and L2 so i need to know what each color coming from the motor is and where they go. Belt driven motor is for an electric plumbers snake. This is what it says on the plaque...1/2 hp, SER 2J97, 6# 3161760,1725 rpm, 115V, 7.2A, 60 HZ, 48 FR, Time Cont., type FH, SF 1.25, PH 1, SFA 8.0..........on the wiring diagram it says..RED-------4 L1--------Line Black------2 L2-------grounded Line(116V circuit) Type A GF2054

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Part of your problem will be the snake has a reversing switch so it is not as simple as just wiring two line leads. I assume you have a DPDT switch for reversing it? If so line goes to the center posts/terminals, motor L1 and L2 go to one end, motor red and black to the other end, and a jumper crisscrosses from end to end allowing the reversing.

In essence, what has to happen is in one direction motor L1 and red get power from one line and motor L2 and black from the other; to reverse motor L1 and BLACK get power from one line and motor L2 and RED the other. All of this assumes you are connecting to 115VAC since that is the portion of the diagram you reference. If not, add a comment with what you are connecting to.

Have a 230 volt fan motor. no diagram. its a emerson k55hxbmj-1121 1/6 hp

On a 220-230 V ac motor black and white are both hot legs On the lable on the side of the motor there is a diagram that tells you what wires go where. The 2 brown go to a capacitor. if there is a red and blue thoes are speed taps. You would use either in place of the black for slow or Med speed.

I mean this respectfully, if the technician cannot wire a unit without a wiring diagram , he is not competent to do the work.
It is really very simple, If you look at the power lines entering a building, ther are but 2 hot legs of 115 volts for 230 volts and a earth / ground, every wire we will ever see are these 2 hot legs or a combination of them.
Every circuit requires 2 sides/legs of power, a device and a switch, begin at L1 go through switch to load return to opposite side of power from where you began, very simple.

If you do not know this a wiring diagram will tell him nothing but how to blindly try to follow some diagram he has no grasp of the theory behind or he would see how simple his dilamna is.

Need wiring schematic for Wesco Model 2100 Electric Furnace (wiring diagram)

82106c19-5c06-486e-9f9a-3e04a0a81160.pngfafba6f2-5eeb-4990-a3c3-1b3f3ae5dbc6.pngThat unit is very small with every component within 3 feet of the pigtail/power cord.
A electric heater has heat strip/s
a switch and 2 thermal limiting devices, 1 auto resetting, the other not resettable or serviceable by the user, tending to not be an economically viable option.
There are 2 hot legs of power and an earth/ground wire feeding any home or most businesses, every wire in every unit is either 1 of the 2 coming in to the building, Line 1 and Line 2.

Now if you know the sequence of operation and can recognize the components, thus locate them and are familiar with each as to what terminal is what, there is no need for a wiring diagram to tell you that 2 legs of power feed each load, be it high, low voltage, AC or DC polarity.
Every circuit requires 2 sides/legs of power Line 1 and Line 2.
Beginning on Line 1 go through the switch, to the load/device,
and from the device/load we return to the opposite side/leg of power from which we began.
Now if you do not know this and do not recognize the components thus cannot locate them other than tediously following both legs of power all over to where you know it must be anyways! as the unit in no way resembles a wiring diagram I see no use for a wiring diagram for those who know or do nor know the trade.

Need wiring diagram for installation of an A.O. Smith DL1036 blower motor. Unsure is it is wired correctly. Wires provided are Black, Red, Yellow, and Blue.

These wire colors are the different speeds for the motor. You will have 1 wire going to the heat, 1 wire going to the cool, and 2 wires on the park terminals on the board if available. It will actually tell you the speeds of the colors provided on the motor itself i.e. BLACK=High and so on. Without knowing what model of unit you are working on, it's hard to say where exactly the wires will hook up, but the majority of the time you will have a electrical board inside the furnace and the terminals that I described will be marked. Hope this helps and good luck!

Transformer died, got a Packard Universal PF42440 for Heil furnac

Look at the tranformer. It should tell you which wires are the primary side and which are the secondary side. It may have more than 2 wires on the primary so it can be used for more than 1 voltage. Now depending on what voltage the a/c uses find the wires in the a/c with that voltage on them (110v or 220v) and connect one of those 2 to the lead for that voltage on the primary and the other to the common on the primary. Next the secondary side should have 2 wires, probably yellow and blue but maybe not. I don't know the color of the wires in your a/c but one leg of the primary usually connects to a red wire and the other to a blue wire that probably come from a ciruit board or thermostat. Make sure you do not connect 110/220 to the wires for the low voltage side. If this doesn't help let me know what color the wires in your unit are and we can go from there.

did you take the out the old switch/ if not follow the colors to the switch and to the motor. you will find numbers on the switch, the wires coming off the motor go into the switch, if you have the light and the switch that run the temperature you can take that out and just run the wires direct to the switch and follow them up from the motor to your switch and like i said red wire, blue wire, white wire, orange wire, brown wire, yellow wire,2 black wires, you should have these wires coming off the motor and they go to the switch, the front of the switch has these number on front A in upper left and on the right side S 2 the bottom left side should have S 1 and the right side of the bottom should have B, you will need a small screwdriver to push the small metal plate that hold the wire in , just push light in the hold and the wire will come out, make a map of what wire go wear and you in a new fan.if you took it apart already then i have to tell what color go wear on the switch from the motor.
