Hi! The fact that the LCD has power implies that the fault is in the Power Amp-Speaker stage.
Check 1: Check that your speakers are connected to the amplifier output properly.
check 2: If connection is proper check for power on/power off blips. If blips are heard the Power amp /speaker stage is ok .
check 3: If power on/off blip is heard then you have to check the source stage i.e CD/radio etc
Check 4: if blip is not heard. Disconnect the speaker and try with another. eliminate the case of a blown speaker by testing speaker on another system.
check 5: if speaker and source are ok. Treoubleshoot the amplifier Power supply stage with the followinghttp://www.howtodothings.com/electronics/how-to-fix-the-fuse-on-your-guitar-amplifier
check 5: if the power supply to power amp stage is ok troubleshoot the power amp stage with this guidehttp://www.howtodothings.com/electronics/how-to-fix-your-guitar-amplifier

Sound comes out but poorly and buttons and LCD don't work.

Possible that your microcontroller is showing fault, it could also be the front panel control sub processor.
Open and clean the inside and possible try to check for moisture or dirt, if so clean , use a drying heater and try again.

No audio input-have done system test, diagnostics. all report no problem but still no sound

Did you try feeding the audio line input jack with an MP3 (using MP3 headphone audio out) to find out if you do get sound? The volume control panel shows on the screen when you hit the Volume up/down buttons? Otherwise you may have power amplifier failure inside the unit ot it may lose the power supply feeding the amplifier.

I have an Olevia Syntax LT27HV LCD TV that lost sound. Do you know what board fixes this problem? The manual says maybe interface board or system board.

It depends on where you lose the sound, no sound from speakers? no audio line out?
The amplifier circuits are on the main board. You should try hooking up a powered PC speakers to the audio line out to see if you get the sound, if you do, then the power amplifiers are bad (it is a single IC Class D dual amplifiers, IC U54 on the main board)

Hook up speakers to 32 inch lcd hdtv

"Line" level audio output is available at the audio output phono jacks at the top of the rear panel, but not speaker-level output. So, you'll need an amplifier to use in conjunction with your external speakers. (An alternative would be "powered" or "amplified" speakers that have their own amplifier, but often are less satisfactory acoustically). You don't necessarily need to get a full-fledged "receiver" with multiple in's & out's... I simply used an inexpensive stereo amplifier.

Connect the "Audio L - R" jacks on the rear of the set to the "line" or "aux" inputs on your chosen amplifier and speakers. If you go into the set's Menu - Option - Output Select and set it to "Variable", the internal speakers will be disabled, and you can control the volume (and muting) of the audio sent to the amplifier, and still have "armchair" control of the volume as before... but now with better stereo!
