if you are trying to play online ie multiplayer then check your firewall settings. what is the internet security suite you are using? i hope its not "CA" provided from your isp!! and most of the times these modems have an inbuild physical firewall. anti-virus and firewall are very different from each other! a good firewall hides your system in the network. a free firewall program will not have enough good features!!

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Siemens/Speedstream-5450/World_of_Warcraft.htm should be close enough to get you started (they don't have pictures for the 4200). Check the link for the downloader too - you'll need those ports forwarded if you want to download upgrades. (And you probably can't get both the desktop and the laptop playing at the same time - a port can only be forwarded to one computer at a time.)
