Install the correct drivers for the OS you're using found here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+865+Chipset+Family+Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Desktop+Board+D865GBF

I'd install the chipset first which may contain the Windows Audio Driver you need. Otherwise the chipset has several updated audio drivers. If none of them work I suggest you check here http://list.driverguide.com/list/company496/device19/index.html

SOUND NOT COMING!!!!! ????

Doesn't matter about the Processor, Motherboard chipset, Ram Memory, or Harddrive;

What DOES matter is what audio chipset it is using.

Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_Circuit

The audio I.C., or audio chipset, for the Mercury PIG31Z motherboard, is a Realtek ALC655,

http://www.mercury-pc.com/product-detail.php?link=p-mainboards&subtitle=Mainboard&productid=850#

(Specifications)

Let's look at available downloads, see if there is one for the Realtek ALC655, and Windows 7 drivers,

http://www.mercury-pc.com/downloads_list.php?productid=850

Yes -> Win7_655_Audio
Click on the Down Arrow under the Download subheading, and across from Win7_655_Audio

Remember, you have to download AND install.
Need guidance, post back in a Comment.
(Also post if the download works. I seem to have missed my 'time opportunity' )

I have got 965 chipset mother board after reinstallation of OS audio not there in my spekers

You will need the laptops setup disc to load the drivers for the audio. They don't always get recognized by the OS when reinstalled. If you can get on the Internet and I'm assuming you can because you asked a question here, you can download the audio driver.

ASUS P5KPL-AM VIA HD Audio Device not found

I would try the realtek audio driver instead. there are two different audio drivers for that board. Here is the link:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

select the socket 775 then look for the p5kpl board then look in the audio section and select the realtek driver

Drivers for HP pavilion with win xp

HP does not offer Windows XP drivers.

But, the chipsets on the HP computer are made by 3rd party companies. So, you mighty find out, for example, who makes the Audio chip and on their website find generic drivers for that chip, that will work in Windows XP.

Here are some I found:

Nvidia Chipset GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 (mutiple drivers) XP DRIVERS

Realtek High Definition 8-channel audio, ALC 888S chipset XP DRIVERS

Have you already installed Windows XP on the computer? If so, did you look in the Device Manager to see what devices have problems or undefined devices with question marks?

Audio drivers

shasta,
  • first install your chipset driver. then try to install audio.
  • If still same problem, check out that your driver supports windows XP.
  • You can make download latest driver from Asus website. Just go to that site and select your product model and download driver for XP.

If still problem just Ask me with your feed back.

Thanks
Iqbal
