This could be a sign that the hard drive is about to fail.
There is not much that can be done. All hard drives fail at some point in there life, some earlier and some later. If the product is still under warranty you can get a replacement - but only if it does fail.

I have a Gateway 24" widescreen HD Perf LCD w/GW When plugged in the monitor is dark and only continually beeps with the on button in the lower right corner flashing on the beep. What to do? Thanks Robert...

Try it on another PC first, also check the video cable. If it still does not work, you will have to open it up.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

On startup the hard drive makes continuous beeping sound and small orange light comes on

Its not Hard Drive that makes beeping sound its your mainboard. Check in Bios (if possible) that HD is recognised properly. Disconnect HD form computer and then start computer without HD to see wheather the problem is still there. If not, connect another HD (preferably not more than 40 GB) and use a new IDE cable if applicable. Some HP PCs record in Bios their original HD serial number preventing replacement of HD. In worst case the HD controller on Mainboard is not working properly or may be defected.

IBM T20 hard disk won't start, no display, and beeping

it may be drive issue,:

- replace the hd and cmos battery,
- change boot device priority in BIOS
to 1st: cd/dvd
2nd: hd
3rd: floppy or network boot or usb-boot

- exit BIOS saving changes: yes
- reboot from windows cd-rom for testing the cd drive
- try booting from new hd (if bios recognizes it,
then install operation system

- if still the same prob, see a technician about this issue

Will not boot give error code one long beep tone 2 short no screen no HD or display Tone will not happen if Memory is out . HD is not powering up not backlight to screen no fan sound this is a Toshiba...

Without knowing which bios chip is in the machine this will be quite difficult. One long and 2 short beeps, with some bios chips, means faulty graphics controller chip.

Boot up problem

youre hd needs an os installing on it.first partition, then format ,then install os(windows)
the system is looking for a os not a hd ;the beeps indicate no os found(no drive by default)
if there is no hd,memory,or video card or stuck key the pc will beep.also with video card not connected the screen will be blank also with many models no memory will result blank screen. In ur case its only the hd.make sure all items are fitted insert os disk in cd drive start pc and boot from cd,to create partition, format and install
