If the radio needs a code it will be in the car handbook or if that is unavailable the only other option is to ring the manufactorier to obtain the 4 or 5 digit code be sure to write it down incase this problem occurs again

Hi i have a kdc-mp728 car stereo and i don't know the security code number, the sisstem is not operate, how i can turn on the radio?

To the right of the six preset buttons on the face of the unit is a small small concave reset button. Push this to reset the entire unit. You will lose all your setting and the protection code will also be reset. The factory default is not to use the security code, but I recommend setting it to something you remember because this happens often enough on Kenwoods.

by now someone should have told you to disconnect the reset button...enter new security code...this should work if radio is not reported stolen because these paticular radios are used by satellite radio hams who like clean lines in there cars...excellent radios getting hard to find. had one ripped out of my car a kenwood sr700 and my only consolation is that it was a waste of time for the thief.

Hi Homer, sorry mate, unless you have a remote control, thatas the only way I know of to do it.I assume that you have read this.

Other way is to ask your friends if they have the same, or go to a car audio installer in your area, and check to see if they can help you out. I used to do this for people. And not charge them. You don't by chance live in Brisbane do you?
