Question about DeLonghi CF210 Portable Air Conditioner
We have a DeLonghi Pinguino portable air conditioner. It's making strange sounds, and I called up DeLonghi re getting someone to come up to fix it.
They said I'd have to ship the air conditioner to them. NO repair people from their company in my area (NYC!!!!). This is insane. I weigh 100 lbs. And that's what they said the AC weighs... they're kidding. Impossible to ship this thing. .
I even had to have the nice delivery man unpack it for me, when I first received it- too heavy for me to manage to get out of the box, even..
Thank God I didn't purchase the extended warrantee. I'll never buy a DeLonghi product again, that's for sure.
This is why I ask if there is local warranty service for anything that I buy, especially if it is very heavy to ship.
To ship the air conditioner, you will have to get the proper box and packing. There are transport companies that will ship it for you.
You will find one interesting thing about shipping an air conditioner. Because of the size and weight, the cost of shipping will probably come to about the cost of servicing it by an independent refrigeration service center if there are no major parts involved.
When shipping an air conditioner you will have to ship it insured. If you don't insure it, and if it is dropped or smashed you will have no re-coarse to have any compensation for it. This will also add to the cost.
At my location here in Canada, DeLonghi has an almost local service. I once tried to call them, and they are very poor at answering the phone to respond to questions.

a 6ya Repairman can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Repairman (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
