Some Toshiba's can be convinced to bypass the startup BIOS password if you hold down the <LEFT-SHIFT> key while booting the system.

Toshiba laptop has black screen WITH BLUE password box how do i get past the box to get my laptop back/i've tried tons of different f keys and even took out the battery please help

If you did not set a password, first try by simply hitting enter (no words or characters in the box). If this does not work, restart the computer and press F11 or F12 to enter set up (only one or the other will bring you into setup). Once in setup, find where to set\change password. For "new" leave blank, and press enter. Delete anything that may be in this box. Do the same for the next box(es) for "re-enter" password; leaving the box blank and pressing enter. At the very end (right) of the screen, it should give a list of exit options (after selecting "reset" or "save" password; select "save changes and exit" option. The computer should restart automatically and bring you to either 1. The "blue" password screen, for which you will press enter. 2. The operating system Desktop, i.e. Windows etc. where all your icons and apps are displayed. If thus does not work, you need to reset the computer to its default (factory settings) which can be done following the same steps, and finding this option in the menus provided. I do not know what OS you have, but if it is Windows then the above is where to go.

When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator to log in if you cant log in

during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

or

control panel user accounts

on the users tab, click the name of the computer administrator you can change the password there

hope this helps

what you need to do is pull both the laptop battery as well as the cmos battery. in some instances, the battery can be pulled, but on other models, i have seen the battery as an actual physical part on the motherboard or somewhere where it is not easily accessible, in which case you need to clear the cmos by using a jumper on the motherboard, since it is a laptop, they are all different. you may need to see if you can locate a copy of the motherboards schematics and go from there.
