Question about Carrier Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a carrier Puron unit that is six years old. We had to replace the compresor on the third year, and now it is three years later and the second unit has failed.

I have seen this before when there is an obstruction in the evaporator coil metering device. This causes the compressor to struggle moving the Puron. After the Puron has been recovered make sure that they do a complete check of the metering device and check for other obstructions. When they are done checking they must do a proper vacuum to remove any non condensables like water condensation. Finally they should have installed both a liquid and suction filter dryer to reduce any dirt and stuff. The only other options are unlikely, as we will assume that the last company installed the correct (new) compressor and that they did not do a hack job.

On a happier note, the compressor should still be under the 10 year parts warranty!

Unlock a spint lg

Technically, it is illegal to unlock any phone purchased through a carrier in the US without the expressed consent of that carrier. What you have to do is go to your carrier and meet their six principals which are listed below.

The alternative is to find a third party SIM unlock website. You can usually find these guys on something like Craigslist.

  • Prepaid Unlocking Policy: Carriers will unlock prepaid mobile devices upon request, no later than one year after the initial activation.

  • Postpaid Unlocking Policy: Carriers will unlock or provide necessary information to unlock their devices to customers and former customers after the completion of a service contract, device financing plan or the payment of an early termination fee.

  • Notice: Carriers that lock devices have to notify customers that they are eligible to unlock their devices when eligibility occurs or will automatically unlock devices remotely when they are eligible.

  • Response Time: Carriers will unlock eligible devices within two business days of receiving a request.

  • Deployed Personnel Unlocking Policy: Carriers will unlock mobile devices for deployed military personnel for customers in good standing.

    Bad condenser unit GOODMAN

it is a 3 ton condensor you still can buy r22 freon condensors new but they have nitrogen charge and its expensive to charge I recommend to go with 3 ton goodman condensor which is new 410a puron and also change indoor coil and flush the line set so you dont endure the high cost of new copper lines these new systems come with 10 years warranty and the r22 systems come with only five years

I replaced my whole heat pump system 3 years ago with a Carrier Puron unit. The installer called me this week and told me that I needed to replace the puron after the third year at a approx cost of...

Tell him you already had it done. lol. Unless you misunderstood what he told you no! You don't need to replace the Refrigerant weather it's Puron or Freon. It doesn't wear out. Ever. If your system develops a leak and you loose the Refrigerant it will have to be replaced but you will know you lost it because the system won't cool and heat like it's supposed to. I would report the installer to the better business bureau.

We have recently had three problems with our three year old Carrier 24 ACA airconditioner that I believe has led to it no longer producing the low temp. chilled air it did when it was installed. !. water...

Your air temp should be at least 20 degrees cooler than the indoor air temp. This is ideal. But it sound like your unit is low on freon. When units get low they will freeze up. They will also freeze up if air flow is restricted on the inside coil or the fan quits on the external unit.

My Junk Electric Artica refrig drops to 28 degrees on frig side. It is set at 44. It does stay around 34 90% of the time. The freezer side set at 6 will drop some at the same time. The ice maker doesn't...

    its one of three fults,,,
it could be the thermostat playing up,,,fit a new one
it could be it needs a re-gas,,so re-gas it
or the compresor could be playing up,,
if the compresor is at fult it needs a new compresor and a re-gas to fix the problem,,,
the compresor is a pricy part to replace,,
how old is it??? would it be cheaper to just buy a new unit insted of patching up the old one? as its only likely to brake down again at a later date!!!
so it could be cheaper to buy new in the long run

It seems as though the bulb(s) in your unit are about to go out. This is repairable/replaceable by calling your manufacturer. If you are still under warranty they can help you by possibly troubleshooting/replacement/referrals.

AC will not cool. How much should a service charge cost?

If the upstairs is working and the down stairs is not,You only need to have one unit checked,Don't assume it just needs puron(If it does,You have a leak, which cost more to locate and repair than some other likely causes)This is not something you can do yourself and is illegal if you are not EPA certified.to get a fair price would depend on your geographic location and the best way would be to call around to some local heating and air companies and ask how much a service call is.(That only tells you the price for them to came and see what the problem is,They will not be able to quote a price until they know what must be done to make the repairs.

I hope this has answered all your questions.

Please take time to rate this fixya

    Carrier air conditioner problem

My Carrier unit did the same thing. It was low on refrigerant (Puron in my unit). I am worried I have a leak somewhere. Hopefully, it is not in the coil. The service call wasn't cheap either. Puron runs around $10-15 a pound and mine took several pounds to replenish.
