customers complaint was that people all had "flatheads"...tried
adjusting the service menu adjustments, could correct the flatheads
but then it would be stretched or squeezed somewhere else..caps
checked ok, changed some anyway, no affect...didn't have the vertical
output, have it on order. just wondered if anyone has ran across the
problem with this model..thanks.

If you did not "check" the caps with an ESR meter, go back and just replace
all of them in the vertical output circuitry..... near and around the output
chip. There are about a half dozen of them, so just replace them all...
not that expensive.
Next time, DO NOT adjust the service menu first for this type of fault....
even if it did provide a satisfactory picture, the results would have been
short lived because the capacitors would continue to deteriorate... and if
nursed along for a while longer would eventually cause more expensive damage
and more expensive parts to fail. replace the faulty parts and usually
there will be no need to get into the service menu.
