Question about Samsung 61" Slim-Depth DLP HDTV

2 Answers

Colored vertical lines through picture The TV was working perfectly. Then i turned it off. Turned it on a half hour later and the entire screen is covered in green vertical lines. Doesn't matter what the source is (DVR, DVD, etc.), lines remain. I've cycled it a few times with no luck. Any suggestions?

TV has a line across the screen when I turn it on.

You have a vertical deflection problem ; probably a shorted vertical output IC.

I had a similar issue. Took it in and apparently i had 4 bad capacitors and after replacing those, my tv was perfect. But I think I lucked out on this one. :) try it.

Vertical color lines

I had the same thing happen to me this morning. I turned on the TV and it had colored vertical lines through the whole screen. I called Sony and they had me unplug the TV for about 15 minutes. This solved the problem. They said the boards just needed to be reset. It fixed the problem and I am happy with my Sony once again.

Vertical lines across my entire screen

My 42" Samsung Plasma HDTV HP-R4252 has a 2" vertical strip of green pixels down the right side of the screen.

My 3 year warranty with Circuit City expires in Nov 2008.. so I hope I'm covered.. can't call until the morning.

Samsung said it might be a logic board problem.. but they want almost $2000 to fix. I might as well buy another TV if Circuit City can't fix it.

Vertical colored lines on top and bottom of screen

Definately a video processing problem and it may need a logic board it is called. Does the set work fine if you feed component into set to bypass all that? Let me know. GURU JAY
