O my gosh.. the same thing is happening to me.. the tv keeps on blinking the red lights on four times.... and it costing me a lot to fix it....it would worked then it wouldnt.... please give me a suggestions.. thanks.
Four blinking lights means one of your fans are dead. You need to find which one isnt working and replace it. It cost me $19 to order the fan and is an easy fix. You have to take off the back cover and turn the tv on and see which one doesnt spin and replace it.

Hi, If red light was not blinking before lamp replacement and after that it start blinking 3 times then pause for three seconds and again blink, check lamp cover that has not been fixed on tv or it is not fixed/ seated correctly there. Lamp cover is first thing that you removed from tv to replace lamp. Hope these info will help. If red light is blinking other than 3 times, let me know how many times it is blinking along with tv model number written at rear to provide you helpful info. Thanks.
Perhaps it needs the bulb, but there is also a good possibility that the lamp fan is getting clogged and shutting down the set. This is NOT the fan you see in the back, instead, it is above the lamp, and is a small blower-type fan, that tends to clog with dust. You CAN check this, when you open the lamp door, you can see the blower wheel, and if it is all dusty, it needs to be cleaned out--but do NOT just blow it out, or you might clog the engine!! It needs to be removed, and cleaned out of the set.
But first...if the blower is not too dirty...try another lamp.
Have the same thing happening with ours... we were told by a repairman that it needs a new D Board. He told us that if we could fix the TV for under $500 that it was worth it, if not (which of course, we can't when you add in labor cost) don't fix it. I like the TV but I can buy a brand new flat screen for that!
