Realy to know what to type in edit windows vista wont even start in safe mode

What is it actually doing? When you turn the power on and the computer starts up what does windows do as far as where does it stop? Most likely your start up is damaged. This is common if you did the windows upgrade versus a clean install or if there was a power surge while the computer was starting. If you don't see the Computer Manufacturer splash screen the problem is not windows at all but is the computer and we will need to isolate that. What type of computer do you have, How Much RAM memory is installed are also key elements to finding the problem. If you don't have enough RAM the Windows OS will not load properly. Typically Windows indicates a Minimum RAM level that is required but experience has taught us that in many cases double that amount is actually needed in order for it to function. On the other had, the problem could be something as simple as a driver. Windows XP drivers will not work in Windows Vista.

Start you're computer on safe mode an run you're antivirus

Using the F8 Method:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. When the computer starts you will see your computer's hardware being listed. When you see this information start to gently tap the F8 key on your keyboard repeatedly until you are presented with the Windows 7 Advanced Boot Options screen as shown in the image below.

  3. Using the arrow keys, select the Safe Mode option you want.
  4. Then press the enter key on your keyboard to boot into Windows 7 Safe Mode.
  5. When Windows starts you will be at a typical logon screen. Logon to your computer and Windows 7 will enter Safe mode.
  6. Do whatever tasks you require, and when you are done, reboot to go back into normal mode.

T42 gets message"NTLDR" not available. Tried to

Don't try loading windows with out fixing the NTLDR...Try this simple steps in recovery console,

  • Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD drive, and then restart the computer.
  • Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD drive if you are prompted.
  • When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
  • Press 1 (One) to select windows XP and then hit enter.
  • When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
  • At the command prompt, start typing

COPY D:\i386\ntldr C:\ (Considering that D is your CD Rom Drive)
COPY D:\i386\ntdetect C:\ (a file that may also be missing)

  • Then rebuild the boot configuration boot.ini file by
Attrib -H -R -S C:\boot.ini (if not found skip the next line)
    DEL C:\boot.ini
    BootCfg /Rebuild

    Note:

Do not use the repair option in the recovery console.

Or, if you can get into XP, even safe mode, you can arrange to bypass the
password by the following registry change:

Click on Start then click run and type Regedit. Navigate to the key mentioned below,
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Setup\RecoveryConsole
Set the DWORD Security Level value to 1

Hope this helps

My t43 won't start up windows. Freezes on ibm logo screen

People need to understand that you can't even get to the windows bootup if it freezes at this screen. Honestly if you have never dealt with this SPECIFIC issue then please don't answer. From what I have seen so far, you need to remove the HDD, reboot, enter the BIOS, reset it to optimal config, power off, reseat your HDD, then power back on. Seems to be a issue with the HDD itself. I had 6 of these laptops with the same issue and it is hardware based and has NOTHING to do with Windows.

Novalogic Delta Force 1 wont show picture, Windows XP

I suggest you not download/buy pirated copies of game, and they might not have copied it correctly to the disk, and that causes it not to work.

Msconfig won't work

If youre running windows 2000, it doesnt come with msconfig. For a missing msconfig in XP, download it from the internet, copy it to the C:/WINNT/SYSTEM32 folder. The version that works for windows 2000 will work for XP. DONT USE the 95, 98, ME version on 2000 or XP.

Windows xp home edition computer will not start

If the system cannot start on safe mode probably your operating system has gone bad, to check your hard disk you can go use your windows xp disk, to boot from it press f12 choose cd rom keep on tapping enter and dont mind the message that you need to press any key to boot from cd, and then when you are on the welcome to setup page press r for recovery console, once you are there try to type in chkdsk /p and after type in fixboot and press y, and restart your system, if that wont work then your hard drive is bad.

No Audio Output Device Installed

Hi

To immediately fix these errors in Vista, start the Windows Audio service as follows:
  1. Click Start c00834869.gif , and enter services.msc into the Start Search field.
  2. From the list of services, right-click Windows Audio and select Start . Figure 23: Starting the Windows Audio service c00847914.gif
  3. The message should no longer open. If the message opens again after the computer is restarted, repeat these steps, select Properties for Windows Audio and set Startup Type to Automatic.
If you have XP on the computer, then click Start-->Run and then type "services.msc" in the Run window and then click OK and once you get the Windows Services screen, follow the above steps.
If this doesnt work and the sound card is not onboard or integrated, then reseat the sound card preferably into a different slot and repeat the above steps.
