I keep seeing this kind of problems with lcd and other flat screen tv's

In order for a lcd, plasma, or dlp screen to power up, it requires a quick start system, and it uses capacitors to achieve this
Those capacitors are fragile, and all it takes is a quick on off on again, and ...pop!

The capacitors are more than likely blown. If your t.v. is under warranty, I would take it to the place you bought it for repairs, as this can be an expensive repair job.
Depending on how many of the capacitors failed, if could cost almost as much as the tv itself to fix it.

2010 VW CC factory stereo amp popping sound

If the amplifier itself is making the popping sound I suggest you disconnect it immediately, as it could be an electrical short within the amp. If the popping sound is actually coming from the speakers, it could be due to a crossed wire, blown amp channel, or blown speaker. If you posses the technical know-how, you can test the amp channel and speaker by connecting a different speaker to the channel responsible for the popping sound. If the new speaker makes the same popping noise then it is most likely a blown channel. I hope this helps =)

HDMI connection makes noise when you switch channels.Composite/component connection no problem.

Check the backlight condition. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in "Timeslide" or "Flipcard" option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. You can also click the [Home] tab to see the latest updates. It will make search easy. There are more than 1350 posts to different brand TVs now. Pull up older posts there.

My Fender Hot Rod deluxe makes a popping noise when switching back to the clean channel.

This is because your clean channel only runs through the pre-amp section, requiring an increased volume level to match that of the volume of the drive section which is overdriven by the pre-amp circuit. my suggestion is to use lower volume level on the clean channel of the amp. To get any volume boost you may need to match the two channels you could use a signal/volume booster or overdrive pedal between your guitar and amp input, switching it off and back on when you switch back and forth between channels.

We have a problem with one of the channels - when we try to watch it the picture pixelates and there is a nasty popping sound :(

If you are using a satellite receiver for cable TV reception, that particular channel has low signal strength coming into the receiver from the dish antenna. Realigning the direction of the dish might improve the signal but make sure you do not have the same problem on some other OK channel.
