The service man light is an indication that preventative maintenance is due to be performed on the machine. This is also most likely the cause for the faint copies.
This is true unless there is a code associated with the service man light...check the display for any alpha numeric codes such as H4 or L2 etc.
That is a "low fuser heat" code. You can try to reset the code by using a paper clip and pressing the small "reset" button on the right side of the control panel. Hopefully it will get rid of that code for good... if not, You will need to have your fuser looked at (heat lamps, thermisters, etc.) Hope this helps.
