Question about Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One Printer
I dunno what i did but i had the same problem, what i did was connected my usb to my computer held down the stop reset button and just started pressing buttons starting from the left and going to the right and then all of a sudden it started working. its not a techinical fix, but its an unmodern fix.

Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating
system when requested. Look for manuals on the site.
An Error Message Is Displayed on the LCD (MP220 series)
The FINE Cartridge may not be installed properly, or the Cartridge may not be compatible with this machine. Open the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) and install the appropriate FINE Cartridge.
If the error is not resolved, the FINE Cartridge may be damaged. Contact your Canon Service representative.
