Where is the fan for my defroster located? My fan only works when the car first turns on, but when it warms up a bit, it slows down drastically and sometimes just even quits. I want to know how to get a new one in there. Through the dash or under the hood. 1992 Saturn SL

Put your head where the passenger's feet normally are and just look up. you are looking at the bottom of the fan. buy a new fan, unplug the old one and unscrew the screws holding the fan in and lower it down. there will be a sticky gasket. put a vacuum's hose up in the hole and **** the accumulated **** out, do not be violent or forceful. screw the new fan in hook up the wiring and you are good to go.

Going down the road, all electric shuts down

If it was a drastic stop there’s a major issue, take it to a shop. If it was a slow and gradual slowing of the fans or slowly dimming lights as driving then the alternator is bad.

1998 isuzu missing alittle bit. Running hot. Radiator replaced. What is my problem

missing a little and running hot are indicators that you could have a head gasket problem. have it tested for a bad head gasket. the missing could be caused by coolant leaking into the cylinder causing a misfire, because of a bad head gasket. running hot is another indication of head gasket. if the rad cooling fan working properly. I think these have what is called a clutch fan which means, when engine is cold the fan turns slower than it does when its warm. if its turning slow when warmed up like when its cold it could be the fan causing the hot running.

1997 buick skylark temperature sensor location

the radiator fan gets the power from a relay that is energized by a signal from the ECM that in turn gets a report from the coolant temperature sensor
AT this point I would be thinking that there is considerable resistance in the relay
you say the fan works a bit so the temp sensor is reporting toe the ECM which is turning the relay on but power is low from there
replace the fan relay and see if the situation improves
you can test that theory by putting a meter across the wires to the fan when it should be working and reading the voltage available to the fan
if it is not 12 volts or better( 13.2-14 volts) it is the relay

Engine cooling fan only works when ac or defrost is on

if engine at long stand still, the engine temperature will rise about 190 degrees the cooling fan suppose to automaticaly turn on when coolant temperature sensor get hot it cause its resistance decrease causing pcm to send power to coolant fan relays and cooling fans, when you turn on AC the cooling fans suppose to turn on to cool down AC CONDENSOR, IF NOT AC WONT WORK COOLING FAN COOLS DOWN REFRIGERANT SO IT CAN RECYCLE THROUGH THE SYSTEM AGAIN.your cooling is suppose to turn on when engine at a sit still if vechicle not moving as coolant temperature rises at a set point the cooling fans will turn on cool down engine.cooling fans dont turn on when you first cold stsrt vechicle unless you have AC SWITCH ON.if cooling fans dont turn on when vechicle at a long stand still or moving along slow traffic.if coolant temperature sensor been replaced and fuses and relays okay have dealership check see if pcm driver circuit working faulty pcm will cause cooling fans not to turn on.

My cooling fan wont turn off when my car warm up fully

Your cooling fans may never turn off until the engine temp cools down enough. Also if your A/C switch (if equiped) is on the fan should stay on. The defrost position also turns the A/C on as well (helps to defrost windows faster) so that would turn the fan on.

Why does windshield fog up when defroster is on on 1984 Olds 88

Your windshelid fogs up because of the cold air outside mixing with the warm air inside your car, causing the water vapor in the air to stick to your windsheild. Just turn down the heat a bit to solve the problem.

hope it works

I don,t seem to get the fan to turn on and there is slow passive air movement as opposed to a noticeable fan noise with forced air flow from the dashboard. Is it a fuse to the fan? Is the fuse box under...

maybe the switch isnt working properly to turn up the speed of the fan,if it turns the fan on and off look there, also check theres nothing jammed in the fan,...leaves etc...

2002 Jetta 1.8t. Cooling fans not working and AC compressor not comming on.

First thing you do is check fuses which are located driver side door side of the dash and 2nd fuse location is on top of battery
If fuses check ok next you turn on car allowing car to warm up and turn on the air condtioning full blast this should turn on both fans automaticly. Give time for car to warm up reach at half way mark on temperature gauge or air conditioning wont turn on fans automaticly if engine is to cold. If both fans turn on than your fans are not the problem. Next would be the cooling fan switch which is located on the radiator on the driver side lower bottom. It has 3 wires to it disconnect the switch and jump the wires that are parallel to each other and this should turn on your fans. Only if you give time for car to warm up reach at half way mark on temperature gauge. Its very important that the car is warmed up your guage should be reading half of the temperature gauge or none of theses tests which I explain will work. If the fans turn on when you jump the connectors than the problem is the cooling fan control thermal switch(costs $40)but if the fans dont turn on than I am sorry. Finally if all theses tests pass you have a real expensive problem or time consuming problem.

Heater fan blowing intermittently or not at all

Most likely it does, if you can hit the motor and it will run. I can't say for sure but you might want to chk. to see if you got a heater blower motor resister. There located (if its got one) around the heater motor and it controls blower speeds, might be worth checking out.
