How do the sustain boards look? any sign of cold solder joits, bad caps, etc. You will need to test the voltages at the tset points before and after the problem occur.
You better be sure to dry the boards real good to make sure there are no moistures left on the boards or you will have more damages since we are dealing with high voltages, high voltage and water do not mix.
"IT GETS REHEATED AND COLD, UNTIL IT DOES" That must be new kind of testing, I better tell my firends at Fairchild semiconductor Discrete division that after working there for 10 years we never do that kind of test to make it pass temp test, we reject them the first time it failed. That is real funny.
