Re: toshiba laptop wireless LAN adapter driver
I think the best solution for you is to make a system restore. To do so, you need to go to the control panel of your windows, click performance and maintenance and select system restore from the left hand side. Check the option "restore my computer to an earlier time" and click next. Please chose a day from the calendar with bold numbers. Chose 1 bold date before your son installed that disk and click NEXT again. follow the instructions and after the laptop reboots your laptop will return to the state it was before the disk installation.
* If by any chance you do not see the performance and maintenance category, you will find a button on the left hand side "switch to category view" and click on it
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/ enter your laptop information as it asks select your operating system, and it will display all the drivers available for you. you can then download the ones you need and be set.
Right click on the wireless LAN and then click Repair. Do this in the Control Panel - Network Connections. This will force the wireless LAN card to get a new TCP/IP address from your wireless router.
When you get this Limited connectivity message do a repair - this is a common problem - the wireless connection icon is also on your Task Bar, you can right click in it to do a repair.

Please try these: Under device manager, click on wireless LAN then select uninstall or properties-driver tab-uninstall. Then restart your laptop. If this is not possible, Using a different laptop, please go to pcsupport.toshiba.com or support.toshiba.com - downloads - portables - select model - show results - downloads - then please click on the latest wifi driver - download. Please select save and save that driver to a disc then run it in your laptop. Restart laptop then hope it works. Thank you.
Make sure that the built-in wireless lan is disabled. If your pc is XP or vista, uninstall the new WIRELESS LAN(go to control panet, add/remove programs), select the Atheros Software. Leave the WIRELESS ADAPTER connected to your pc. Insert the disc, do not run the set up. RESTART THE PC. The drivers for the WIRELESS ADAPTER should install, if not load drivers manually.
MAKE SURE WIRELESS ZERO CONFIGURATION for XP is running. You should be able to detect wireless networks.
